Just days before attending the premiere of Dune on Monday night in London, Zendaya defended the mullet hairstyle she rocked on the red carpet at the 58th Grammy Awards held in February of 2016.

“You started making things interesting when you did that David Bowie look [at the 2016 Grammys],” InStyle’s Laura Brown said in her interview with Zendaya.

“I know. I got dragged for my mullet at the time, but kids love mullets now. I’m happy about my David Bowie mullet,” Tom Holland’s girlfriend responded.
For the premiere of the 2021 American epic science fiction film Dune, Zendaya wore a white sequined asymmetrical column gown by Paris-based American fashion designer Rick Owens.

“My part is very, very small in this movie and that’s why I’m so excited to see it, to see what everyone’s been up to,” she told Empire about her role in the movie as a young Fremen woman named Chani.

“[Director Denis Villeneuve and I] had a little discussion about who Chani is and the strength she possesses. She’s a fighter, that’s what her people are. I only really had a few days with her, so I kind of scratched the surface but it was so much fun figuring her out. What does she walk like, what does she talk like? This is her planet, so how does she navigate this world? It was so fun.”
