We’ve featured many red carpet designer dresses with jaw-dropping prices, but nothing compares to this dress we’re putting in the spotlight today.
It is touted as “the world’s most expensive dress.” Just how expensive? Try 17.7 million dollars.

British designer Debbie Wingham, also known for her luxurious shoes, created a simple abaya (the cloak-like dress worn by some women in parts of the Islamic world). But what it lacks in design, it more than makes up for in dazzle.
What makes this dress so incomprehensibly expensive is the extremely rare red diamond hanging from its detailed neckline, valued at 7.4 million dollars.

The $17.7M price covers the 2,000 black and white diamonds adorning the abaya, all of which have been handstitched into place using a 14-carat white gold thread.

We don’t need to mention how much we love dresses, but when it comes to precious gemstones, a dress might not be the best way to showcase them.
You can barely even see the red diamond, which is unfortunate, considering it’s supposed to be what makes this dress the world’s most expensive dress in the first place!

Who do you think will be snapping up this fancy frock? If you’re lucky enough to be invited, Debbie Wingham holds private consultations and viewings with clients at the Penthouse of the Raffles Hotel in Dubai.
