Guinness World Record Holder for Longest Nails Attends NOH8 Party

Chris Walton, known as “The Duchess” and the Guinness World Record holder for the world’s longest nails, was at the NOH8 Celebrity Studded 4th Anniversary Party at Avalon in Hollywood in December 2012.

Walton lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, as a mother and grandmother. She is also a singer and performs under the stage name “The Duchess.”

Despite the length of her nails, Walton can perform many everyday tasks, including cooking, cleaning, and playing the piano.

This is a little unusual for us here on Your Next Shoes, but among all the pictures from the NOH8 party, we could not take our eyes off Chris Walton’s nails.

At least they’re polished and clean-looking, but we’ll still spare you the closeups and show you these mid-sized pictures.

Chris Walton has refrained from cutting her nails since 1993. They now span about 20 feet (approximately 609.6 cm), winding and twisting in ways that might make even straightforward tasks seem challenging.

In 2011, Ms. Walton explained that she didn’t intentionally grow her nails long; they grew as she ceased getting manicures and began self-care.

Her nails kept growing by avoiding trimming and using fill-ins, mainly because she didn’t focus on them. She strengthens her nails with acrylic to balance their weight. Ms. Walton once lost a nail while fixing her car but generally faces no hindrance in her daily life.

People often perceive her as delicate initially, but she maintains her independence, asserting that she manages all her tasks.

Those are 10 feet and 2 inches of nails on her left hand and 9 feet and 7 inches on the right.

All bets are on for how this woman ties the shoelaces on her shoes! We’re guessing we won’t find any lace-up styles in her shoe closet.

So, we’re not totally out of topic; she did have some cute blingy sandals on at the party:

Now that we think of it lacing up her shoes would be one of the least of her worries with nails that long.

In 2016, Chris “The Duchess” Walton entered America’s Got Talent spotlight in its 11th season. During her audition in Episode 1104, she showcased her singing talents.

However, the airing of this performance segment was omitted, leading to some uncertainty about the judges’ reactions. It’s speculated that all four judges, namely Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon Cowell, might have buzzed her act and possibly voted “No,” resulting in her elimination from the competition. Following her AGT stint, Chris appeared on the 2016 edition of “To Tell the Truth.”
