It was a parade of one bad outfit choice after another among the front-row attendees of the Louis Vuitton Fall 2019 fashion show in Paris, France, last week.
While there were admittedly some hits among the misses in the clothes, the shoe picks were, sad to say, all so disappointing.
Is it time for LV to hire a new shoe designer? Read on to see all the ugly Louis Vuitton shoes we spotted on celebrities as they arrived for the French luxury label’s fashion show during Paris Fashion Week Womenswear Fall/Winter 2019/2020.
1. Emma Stone & Nina Dobrev’s Looks Weighed Down by Louis Vuitton’s Heavy Double-Strap Mary Janes
Emma Stone’s adorable tweed coat dress with a lovely lace collar was brought down by the blocky double-strap Mary Janes on her feet.

Nina Dobrev also burdened her springtime yellow floral shirt, beige buttoned mini dress, and cute Louis Vuitton ‘Toupie’ bag with the same heavy black-patent pumps.
Wouldn’t it be a huge improvement if the shoes had lower-cut vamps instead of covering almost half of the feet?

2. Alicia Vikander and Sienna Miller Struggle with Crisscross-Strap Pumps on the Louis Vuitton Front Row
We see the contrast Alicia Vikander was trying to achieve when she paired a prim-and-proper Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2019 ruffle-shouldered midi dress with bondage-inspired crisscross-strap pumps.
However, the “Tomb Raider” actress seemed to have run into some trouble with the straps, as the center t-bar wasn’t secured on her right foot.

Sienna Miller had better luck with the straps on her pair, but the shiny, black shoes still looked jarring against her checkered ensemble’s earthy brown and yellow tones.

3. Jaden and Willow Smith Push Boundaries with Oversized Dad Sneakers and Thigh-High Boots
Dad sneakers are still having their moment, and if there’s anyone who can pull them off with aplomb, it’s style-setter siblings Jaden and Willow Smith.

Props to Jaden for not only wearing the women’s ‘Archlight’ sneakers but also for not caring to be photographed in them over and over again. The non-binary fashion icon paired his Louis Vuitton double-monogram jacquard jacket with the much-hyped women’s ‘Toupie’ bag.

Dad shoes are already bulky monstrosities, so we don’t know what LV was thinking when they decided to turn their already-oversized ‘Archlight’ sneakers into even heftier leather thigh-high boots.
Willow Smith didn’t have a problem styling them, though. She effortlessly wore her hulking pair with a graphic T-shirt dress featuring rope-embellished bell sleeves.

4. Jennifer Connelly and Thandie Newton’s Bold but Bulky Wedge Booties at Louis Vuitton
At first, we didn’t understand what Jennifer Connelly was going for in her layered getup. A plaid sweater with a green belt bag worn over a pleated floral skirt and flared leather pants? Did she just put on whatever was left on the clothes rack?
Then we looked closer at the black pointy-toe booties with fat, bulbous wedge heels she was given to wear and understood. She was smart to keep them covered up.

Thandie Newton gave us full views of what was probably the ugliest of the ugly Louis Vuitton shoes we saw that day.
Looking on the bright side, we imagine the globular soles gave Thandie a bounce in her step and showcased her glorious head of curls splendidly.

5. Chloë Grace Moretz and Noomi Rapace’s Edgy Lace-Up Boots Miss the Mark at Louis Vuitton
Chloë Grace Moretz and Noomi Rapace looked like ’80s fashion victims in their color-smear-print ensembles. Their lace-up ankle boots with shifted-back heels could’ve been edgy, but the retro styling made the shoes look out of place instead.

6. Emma Roberts’ Clashing Prints and Outdated Monk-Strap Booties at Paris Fashion Week
The opposite happened to Emma Roberts, who was clearly going for a fashion-forward look with dizzying, clashing prints. However, her ankle boots, awkward ruffles, and double monk straps took her outfit from daring to dated.
