The 2016 BET Awards ceremony was full of all sorts of emotion and the three-and-a-half-hour extravaganza definitely did not disappoint. We were treated to Jesse Williams’ passionate speech, Laila Ali’s moving tribute to her late father Muhammad Ali, and the amazing performance by Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar.
So, as a BET host, Tracee Ellis Ross — the daughter of legendary singer Diana Ross — had a lot to live up to with co-host Anthony Anderson. Let’s get started on our recap with a replay of their Hamilton-style rendition of some of the hottest tracks of the year.
The “Black-ish” star not only impressed on stage, but on the red carpet as well. Tracee looked smoking hot in her fitted Thierry Mugler dress. The iconic, vintage dress is from the designer’s 1983 Spring/Summer collection and features python printed stretch fabric covered in clear sequins. The design gives an illusion of water running over the reptilian scales. We never knew she was hiding those curves under the scrubs she typically wears on her hit show.

The actress styled the beautiful dress with a pair of Christian Louboutin “So Kate” pumps in neon yellow. The neon shoes perfectly contrasted the dark green dress.

She accessorized using only a pair of round, gold earrings from Celine. Tracee donned dramatic makeup, with bold red lips, dramatic lashes and dark winged eyeliner. Her hair was sleek and simple, pulled back to give attention to her bold makeup and dress.

Unfortunately, the “So Kate” pumps in neon are no longer available online, but they are available in other colors from Barneys New York.
