For this year’s Venice Film Festival, our favorite stars went all out with their glamorous looks. But the festival belongs to Tessa Thompson and Jodie Turner-Smith, whose show-stopping outfits were the highlights of the event.

Tessa attended the premiere of White Noise wearing an archival piece from Armani Prive’s Fall 2009 couture show. It featured a strapless silver top with a cascading peplum detail and a fitted black sequin skirt.

The 38-year-old actress added her own brand of cool with Dior shades, a chunky chain necklace, and Pomellato jewelry. She finished her look with a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti black patent leather ankle-strap heels.

2. Elie Saab Fall 2022 Haute Couture Gown and Christian Louboutin Pigalle Plato Pumps
Missing Tessa Thompson on the red carpet in her Little Red Riding Hood meets Haute Couture look was difficult.

She stepped out for the Bardo premiere in a striking head-to-toe red ensemble. Tessa wore a Fall 2022 Haute Couture gown from Elie Saab with a wrap-around stole, a short skirt, and a sweeping train. She styled it with matching red tights and Christian Louboutin Pigalle Plato pointy-toe pumps.
Her show-stopping look was completed by Pomellato rings, a bold red lip, blonde curls, and a red top handle bag from Brandon Blackwood.

3. Jason Wu Fall 2022 Look and Anny Nord Slingback Pumps
Hollywood’s fashion darling showcased her flair for dark romance at the Opera Prima photocall.
She wore a black cropped top with long sleeves and a large bow accent styled with a black floral lace skirt from Jason Wu’s Fall 2022 collection. Tessa kept her styling simple with a sleek ponytail, large hoop earrings, and black slingback pumps from Anny Nord.

The Maniac pumps feature a pointy-toe silhouette with striking curved heels. We’ve previously seen these shoes on Sienna Miller at the Anatomy of a Scandal world premiere in London.

4. Christopher John Rogers Resort 2023 Look and Cult Gaia Platform Heels
Proving she’s not afraid of color, Tessa showed up at the Bones and All premiere in a neon green set from Christopher John Rogers.
The corset was paired with a voluminous bustle skirt, and Tessa added a black veil for a bit of drama. Her look defined the designer’s Resort 2023 collection with sharp tailoring, bold use of color, and billowing silhouette.
Cult Gaia’s black platform heels and a long, braided ponytail put the finishing touches to Tessa’s look.

5. Marc Jacobs Fall 2022 Gown and Marc Jacobs Platform Boots
Tessa Thompson definitely gave everyone something else to talk about other than the controversy surrounding the troubled production of the film Don’t Worry Darling.
She attended the premiere in a head-turning green gown from Marc Jacobs. The Fall 2022 piece featured sequin embellishments and an off-the-shoulder design with a billowing bodice and sleeves. It also had a slim-fitting, floor-length skirt with a gathered bustle and hanging train.

6. Interior Fall 2022 Dress and Giambattista Valli Platform Heels
The Men in Black: International actress amped up the drama in an all-black look at the premiere of the highly anticipated film Blonde.
Tessa joined lead actress Ana de Armas on the red carpet in a black mesh hooded dress from Interior’s Fall 2022 collection. It sparkled with sequin embellishments and left little to the imagination.
She changed her hairstyle and added blunt blonde bangs that peeked under the hood. Pomellato jewelry and Giambattista Valli sky-high platform pumps finished off her premiere look.

7. Emilia Wickstead Fall 2022 Dress and Giuseppe Zanotti Wedge Sandals
The style star took a break from avant-garde fashion and opted for a chic look while out and about in Venice.
Tessa wore the Ginny dress from Emilia Wickstead’s Fall 2022 collection, crafted from Duchesse satin. The midi dress featured a sleeveless design, a slim fit, and a checkerboard motif in a chocolate shade against an ivory backdrop.
Her beauty look consisted of a chic updo, minimal makeup, and oversized sunglasses. She rounded out her ensemble with chunky rings, a teal handbag, and white wedge sandals from Giuseppe Zanotti.

8. Schiaparelli Fall 2022 Haute Couture Dress and Santoni Patent Leather Pumps
For the film festival’s closing ceremony, Tessa Thompson turned to Schiaparelli. She wore a Fall 2022 Haute Couture ivory silk taffeta dress with an asymmetrical design, a billowing silhouette, and draped pearl detailing. It also had a grape accent and a black silk ribbon.
The Venice Film Festival jury member opted for a wet-hair look and accessorized with statement earrings and a black ribbon choker. She also wore black stockings and Santoni patent leather pumps.
