We firmly believe that anyone can wear pretty much anything as long as they feel confident in it. Helen Mirren proved our case at the 2016 Museum of Modern Art Garden Party.

But sometimes, stepping over the fine line between looking confident and gaudy is easy. So, while a mini bodycon dress might look great on someone in their 20s, it’s probably not as ideal for someone in their 50s or 60s.

But there are dresses with ageless silhouettes that fit just about any age bracket.

We think the tea-length dress should be given that recognition.

Case in point: Helen Mirren’s floral tea-length frock at The Museum of Modern Art’s Party. She was joined by her husband, Taylor Edwin Hackford, an American film director and former president of the Directors Guild of America.

After dating for over ten years, Mirren married Taylor Hackford on December 31, 1997. He is best known for Ray (2004), Blood In, Blood Out (1993), and Dolores Claiborne (1995). They met when he directed her in White Nights in 1985.

We love this dress on the 70-year-old actress. The floral print is simple enough, the fit-and-flare silhouette gives this look a youthful vibe, and the tea length adds sophistication.

We especially love the pink cardigan. The veteran actress looked great in this dress, but we think it’s a dress that can also work for someone younger – even a teenager.

It’s safe to say these dresses will never go out of style. We think they’re worth the investment — there’s a good chance they’ll be a staple in your wardrobe for years.
