The 55th Annual NAACP Image Awards was held at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall on Saturday, March 16, in Los Angeles, California.

Hosted by Queen Latifah, the event celebrated the achievements and talents of African Americans in various fields, such as film, TV, music, and literature.

This year’s winners included Usher, H.E.R., Megan Thee Stallion, June Ambrose, and Ciara. The night featured inspiring speeches highlighting themes of representation, equality, and the ongoing fight for justice, reflecting the NAACP’s mission.

The red carpet showcased a range of fashion styles, from classic to bold. Taraji P. Henson catches my attention by wearing a stunning outfit from Del Core’s Spring 2024 ready-to-wear collection, known for its unique sculptural details.

In my opinion, the 53-year-old wealthy American actress’s entire ensemble exudes beauty and softness.

Bringing a ray of sunshine to the event, I adore her choice of a brightly colored masterpiece, making her stand out against the purple backdrop. Opting for a soft yellow dress radiates nothing but class and elegance.

Henson’s sculptured dress boasted a strapless silhouette and an oversized flower-like bodice, adding a touch of drama to her appearance.

I love how the three-dimensional detail of her attire was adorned with small crystals, organically shaping around the bustline and waist, infusing an extra sparkle to her overall look.

Her ensemble cascaded into a floor-skimming skirt with a small train. Though mostly concealed beneath the hem of her dress, her choice of silver sandal heels gave a subtle elevation to her frame.

However, I envision the Abbott Elementary star pairing the dress with gold metallic sandals to maintain the bright theme of her attire.

Styled by styling duo Wayman and Micah, known for their work with other stars like Da’vine Joy Randolph, Colman Domingo, and Jon Batiste, I appreciate that Henson kept her accessories minimal.

She accentuated her appearance with a striking Bulgari Parentesi Hamata faux-chainlink necklace adorning her neck, perfectly complemented by a matching Bulgari Serpenti Viper Double Wrap and Bulgari Serpenti Viper rings.

In terms of her glam, the Baby Boy actress maintained her dark brown tresses slicked into a low braided ponytail while her makeup was focused on the eyes, sporting a soft matte eyeshadow across her lids and a mauve shade on her lips.

Taraji P. Henson’s Outstanding Supporting Actress Acceptance Speech on Pay Inequality

Taraji P. Henson had a triumphant evening at the 2024 NAACP Image Awards, as she graciously accepted the NAACP Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her captivating portrayal of Shug Avery in The Color Purple.

She seized the spotlight to champion pay equality in Hollywood. Despite the support from the audience, it marked a vulnerable moment for her as she candidly shared the challenges of speaking out as a Black actress.

Reflecting on the past backlash she’s encountered when advocating for equal pay, especially for women of color in the industry, Henson expressed gratitude for the unwavering support she received.

In her heartfelt acceptance speech, the Hidden Numbers star remarked, “This is a surprise. I’m grateful. I just want to thank you guys so much for showing up for me all the time. Not just to the box office or watching what I’m in, but you all saw what happened, and you all showed up, you showed out, you showed me love.”

Addressing the daunting task of speaking out about pay inequality, Henson acknowledged, “It’s a scary thing to speak your truth,” yet she encouraged others to persist.

She emphasized, “I urge you all to speak your truth because, at the end of the day, that’s all we have. And like they say, ‘The truth will set you free,’ and not only that, it will set somebody else free.”

Daring in Strapless Black Giambattista Valli Gown at Screen Actors Guild Awards

Late last month, at the 2024 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, Taraji P. Henson was nominated alongside her The Color Purple costars for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

Continuing the stylish streak she’s maintained throughout the award season, she illuminated the red carpet on Saturday, February 24, stepping out at the award ceremony in a black custom-made Giambattista Valli gown.

While the dress doesn’t quite resonate with me, I can’t deny its allure. The ensemble boasted a strapless silhouette, allowing Henson to flaunt a hint of her ample assets with its daring sweetheart neckline, while the fitted bodice accentuated her curves.

However, in my opinion, the floor-length train of the dress felt a tad too dramatic and heavy, slightly weighing down the overall ensemble.

On her feet, she slipped into a pair of bridal open-toed Betsey Johnson Dean Black sandals featuring 4-inch heels, which gave her stature a good lift.

I particularly appreciate the rhinestone detailing on the straps and the textile upper material, adding a touch of sparkle to her outfit.

While I typically lean towards the elegance of minimal accessories, I can’t help but admire Henson’s choice to adorn herself with dazzling statement-making jewelry.

Her ensemble included a glittering Bulgari High Jewelry Serpenti Morganite necklace, complemented by diamond Bulgari stud earrings and a Bulgari High Jewelry Serpenti bracelet adorning her wrist.

She also adorned her fingers with various rings, including the Bulgari High Jewelry ring, Bulgari Serpenti Viper Double Wrap ring, and Bulgari Serpenti Viper ring.

Henson also carried a silver Judith Leiber Envelope Squares silver clutch, perfectly coordinating with her accessories.

For her glam, she opted for a flipped-out bob hairstyle parted to the side, complemented by glamorous makeup featuring pink-hued eyeshadow.

Elegant in White Boss Dress at 2024 Critics Choice Awards

At the January awards show, Taraji P. Henson made a bold statement on the 2024 Critics Choice Awards red carpet, held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, and, in my opinion, her look truly deserves recognition.

Henson was nominated alongside the cast of The Color Purple in the Best Acting Ensemble category, with the film also earning a nomination for Best Picture.

Ultimately, the Oppenheimer cast took home the award in the Best Acting Ensemble category, which also featured nominees like the casts of Air, Barbie, The Holdovers, and Killers Of The Flower Moon.

For the occasion, Taraji P. Henson turned heads in a stunning tuxedo dress custom-made by Boss.

I adore the elegant vibe of her ensemble. She opted for a vibrant white color palette featuring a strapless silhouette and a fitted bodice that beautifully accentuated her figure.

She showcased her toned legs with the gown’s skirt, which featured a thigh-high slit, adding a touch of sultry allure to her look while gracefully cascading down to the floor with a subtle dramatic train trailing behind her.

Henson elevated her stature with silver Alevi Milano heels on her feet, featuring pointy toes, which she perfectly paired with various silver and gold accessories.

I love how she accessorized her outfit with dainty Pandora jewels, adding a delightful sparkle to her ensemble.

It included a Pandora Infinite lab-grown diamond pendant and necklace with 0.25 carat 14K gold, Pandora Era lab-grown diamond triple bezel pendant necklace with 0.45 carat 14K gold, and Pandora Infinite lab-grown diamond double chain Collier necklace with 0.75 carat 14K white gold around her neck, along with a dainty bracelet.

Henson also adorned her fingers with various rings, such as Pandora Era lab-grown diamond ring with 1.00 carat 14K gold, Pandora Era lab-grown diamond bezel ring with 0.25 Carat 14K gold, Pandora Infinite lab-grown diamond ring with 2.00 carat 14K gold, Pandora Nova lab-grown diamond asymmetric ring with 0.50 carat 14K white gold, Pandora Infinite lab-grown diamond ring with 2.00 carat 14K white gold, and Pandora Infinite lab-grown diamond double facing ring with 0.50 carat 14K white gold.

To complete her ensemble, she carried a matching Tyler Ellis Lee pochette in white diamond Swarovski caviar crystal to hold her essentials.

For her hair and makeup, Henson wore short black hair down around her shoulders with a fringe framing her face, complementing her natural beauty with a subtle, neutral glam, smoky eyeshadow, and pink lipstick.
