A Nod to Hollywood Glamour: Sydney’s Red Carpet Look

Sweeney turned up the heat on the red carpet at The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica for the 49th Annual People’s Choice Awards, dressed in this season’s hottest color.

Known for fusing sexy bombshell flair with old Hollywood glamour, the Madame Web actress sizzled in a jaw-dropping red Mônot gown that skimmed effortlessly over her enviable figure.

Sweeney put on a busty display in the bespoke gown, designed for her by Mônot’s founder and creative director, Eli Mizrahi. Thin halter straps crisscrossed in the back held the form-fitting crimson dress around her neck, creating a dangerously low plunging neckline.

Stunning in Crimson: Details of Sydney’s Gown

The striking red gown had a cinched waist that accentuated Sydney’s hourglass contours and underwire bra cups that gave the appearance of fuller breasts.

It fit snugly around the hips and then flowed into a column skirt with a rear slit that went all the way to the knees for a comfortable stride.

Completing the Bombshell Ensemble: Accessories and Makeup

Her shoes were barely visible underneath her gown, but she reportedly wore red satin heels for a stunning monochromatic finish.

The Euphoria star let her gorgeous dress steal the show, leaving her neck bare and accessorizing with elegant De Beers diamond jewelry. She fastened a pair of the Aura Round Brilliant Diamond Stud Earrings to her ears. She adorned her pointy finger with the $8,750 Enchanted Lotus Band in 18k white gold set with 301 round brilliant diamonds totaling 1.22 carats.

Sweeney’s makeup artist, Melissa Hernandez, kept her look seductive with sultry, smokey eyeshadow and thick eyeliner that highlighted her beautiful blue eyes. She brushed light pink powder over her cheeks for a natural blush and applied matte mauve lipstick on her lips.

Meanwhile, hairdresser Glen Oropeza styled The White Lotus star‘s golden locks in delicate waves that cascaded over her bust, with curtain bangs framing her lovely facial features.

Zola Ganzorigt applied glossed vanilla French nails to finish Sydney’s bombshell appearance.

Sweeney’s look, reminiscent of the sultriness of the iconic character Jessica Rabbit, was put together by stylist Molly Dickson, who also curated actress Lucy Hale’s breathtaking red ensemble for the People’s Choice Awards.

The Power of a Classic Red: Lucy Hale’s Dior Elegance

The Pretty Little Liars alum was ravishing in her red Christian Dior gown, which Molly Dickson unearthed from the French luxury house’s Spring 2008 archives.

Her vintage Dior gown featured a form-fitting draped bodice that beautifully encased her slim physique. It also had a strapless sweetheart neckline and a delicate sweeping train that trailed after her every step.

She kept her neck unadorned, styling her classy look with diamond jewelry by Simon G. She wore a $10,560 set of 18k white gold earrings with an array of marquise, princess, and round diamonds weighing a total of 2.29 carats.

In addition, she decorated her hands with a Simon G Mosaic ring and a $24,860 Simon-set Right Hand ring in 18k white gold with 6.83 carats of sparkling diamonds.

Her soft glam and gorgeous wet-look waves rounded out her stunning appearance.

An Unexpected Musical Moment: Bedingfield’s Surprise Performance

Before presenting the Female Country Artist of the Year award to Lainey Wilson, Powell and Sweeney performed a little skit on stage. Powell appeared anxious, and when Sweeney asked if he was alright, Powell said, “Yeah, it’s just a lot of people here. I don’t know. I’m a little nervous.”

Sweeney began singing Unwritten to calm him, encouraging the crowd to sing. Powell said, “My serenity song is not gonna help.” After failing to calm him down, Sweeney brought out “the big guns,” and Natasha Bedingfield emerged on stage, surprising everyone in the audience. The three proceeded to sing Bedingfield’s hit 2004 song Unwritten.

For context, in their recent rom-com, Anyone but You, Powell plays Ben, a Goldman Sachs employee who eases his fear of heights by singing to Bedingfield’s Unwritten.
