Maggie left us speechless as she stepped onto that red carpet wearing a black, avant-garde Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown. This dramatic, off-the-shoulder statement piece with its bold, gold accents is one we will be talking about for days to come.
Sadly not necessarily in the way she would like, as her dress has already been compared to everything from a floor lamp, with door knocker accessories, all the way through to reminding some of Minecraft Steve.

Maggie was joined by her husband Peter Sarsgaard to celebrate her directorial debut of The Lost Daughter.
This first-time feature writer and director had already made headlines when she was nominated for the Best Adapted Screenplay making her the third woman to be recognized in both acting and screenplay categories alongside Emma Thompson and Ruth Gordon.
The Lost Daughter was also nominated for Best Actress for Olivia Coleman’s role and Best Supporting Actress with Jessie Buckley.

Earlier this month, she won Best Director for The Lost Daughter at the 2022 Film Independent Spirit Awards in a pretty Gucci sequin-embroidered suit and black lace top.
Showing a bit of underboob, Margalit “Maggie” Ruth Gyllenhaal completed her look with Ana Khouri jewelry and classic black pumps.

While unfortunately not visible due to the length of her dress, “The Deuce” actress styled her dress with high-heel, black patent Farrah pumps from Giuseppe Zanotti that are characterized by a black ankle strap and a decorative sculpted heel, covered in crystals.
