Reflecting on Selena Gomez’s Journey: From Wizards to Worldwide Stardom

Three years earlier, Selena debuted as teenage wizard Alex Russo in the Disney Channel’s American fantasy teen sitcom Wizards of Waverly Place.

Her best friend in the series, Harper Finkle, was portrayed by Jennifer Stone. Lucy Hale also had a small role in the series.

Gomez was 15 years old when she was born on July 22, 1992, in Grand Prairie, Texas. Her co-star Jennifer Stone was born in Arlington, Texas, on February 12, 1993, and celebrated her 14th birthday on February 12, 2007.

Wizards of Waverly Place concluded with its series finale on January 6, 2012, marking it as the most-watched final episode in Disney Channel history.

Jennifer Stone’s Life After ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’

After starring in the popular Disney series, Jennifer Stone took a break from acting to study psychology and nursing.

“I took four years off, basically, to just, I just kind of was in that spot where I wanted to make sure. I’d been acting since I was six, so I took a break to go to school to just make sure that this is what I wanted to do and to just explore other options,” she told International Business Times in 2018.
