Shailene Woodley has had many successful films in her comparatively short career. You would think this means she’d be a natural on the red carpet by now, but her past spotlight appearances weren’t up to par.
If anything, Shailene landed on more worst-dressed lists than best-dressed ones.

This time, though, it seems like the 24-year-old made an excellent sartorial decision with this Elie Saab couture gown at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival. But then again, it’s hard to go wrong with an Elie Saab gown.

Shailene was at the festival to promote her new movie, Snowden. It is a film adaptation of the books “The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World’s Most Wanted Man” by Luke Harding and “Time of the Octopus” by Anatoly Kucherena.
The movie also stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Zachary Quinto, and Nicolas Cage.

“It’s easy for the media to spin a story and to portray certain narratives,” Shailene Woodley said about playing Edward Snowden’s girlfriend Lindsay Mills opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s Snowden in the film.
“Something that fascinated me about the screenplay to begin was a lot of us know who Edward Snowden is, or we thought we knew who he was, and a lot of people have a lot of strong judgments about Edward Snowden. And I feel like until this movie none of us actually knew the story of Ed the human,” she added.
“We knew the story that mainstream media had put out about him, we knew the story that the government had released. But we didn’t know his story,” the actress concluded.

The Elie Saab gown she wore successfully highlighted her toned figure. It is a halter-style dress that features intricate beaded detailing.
She accessorized with a skinny belt, Nicholas Kirkwood shoes, and John Hardy jewelry. This is a great look from Shailene, perhaps one of the best we’ve seen on her.
