When it comes to rocking headpieces on the red carpet, Sarah Jessica Parker is our go-to. The “Sex and the City” star had a heavy hand in popularizing the trend, and we still find ourselves waiting to see what she’ll pull off when given the occasion.
The 53-year-old actress was one of the most eagerly anticipated Met Gala debuts, and it’s safe to say she exceeded expectations. The shoe designer arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with an entire Neapolitan nativity altar perched on top of her head for the occasion.

It was Dolce & Gabbana that first came to our minds when we learned of the “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination” theme and, apparently, to SJP’s mind as well.
The actress tapped the Italian fashion house to create her 208 Met Gala look, and it, of course, nailed the religious theme with a Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda gold embroidered gown featuring a cathedral train, sacred heart embellishments and baroque motifs.
A metallic copper pair of flower-embellished platform sandals, a matching gold embellished handbag, and Fred Leighton and Jennifer Fisher jewelry completed SJP’s intense look.
