We’re very down with the boy-meets-girl style we’re seeing on the streets these days. With ladylike dressing back in fashion, the juxtaposition of the two is actually quite fascinating to watch.
It’s no secret that one great way to work the masculine-feminine look is to sport menswear-inspired shoes, such as oxfords, loafers, and brogues. Rock a pair with a little white dress, and voila, you’re all set! This is exactly the combination Rosamund Pike put together for her visit to the BBC Radio 2 studios in London on Thursday.
The ‘Hector and the Search for Happiness’ actress wore her white long-sleeved shirtdress with black pointy lace-ups and black peepers. We can’t say that this outfit was one of her best, but she looked cool, laid-back, and really comfortable in it. The shoes dressed down her formal-looking frock and made it look more appropriate for the gig she was attending.

A closer look at Rosamund’s pointy oxford lace-ups
Do you approve of Rosamund’s latest fashion choice?
Sure, a pair of pointy pumps or sky-high sandals would have made her seem more polished and feminine, but those oxfords gave her outfit a dose of drama. Do you agree?
If we were to nitpick, a shorter hemline would have done her good, although that’s a minor issue. For those who wish to recreate the getup, simply go with a short dress and cap off the outfit with sleek pointy lace-ups similar to Rosamunds’. They’re not only flattering to wear but classy-looking as well.
There’s no word on where the actress scored her shoes yet, but here’s a similar style from Attilio Giusti Leombruni that will make a great substitute:

These lace-ups feature patent leather uppers and a very sleek pointed silhouette that is sophisticated and elegant. A pair will cost you about $360. Wear the shoes with the following short white dress from Topshop to complete the look:

For the perennially frugal, a great and highly affordable alternative to consider would be these $48 oxfords from Penny Loves Kenny:
