Dior’s first Black ambassador, Rihanna, returned to the limelight on Monday, gracing the front row of Christian Dior’s Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2024 presentation in one of her most refined looks yet.
Rihanna’s previous appearance at a Dior fashion show caused quite a stir when she showed up heavily pregnant with her first child and wearing a see-through black lingerie dress. This unconventional fashion statement revolutionized maternity dressing.
This time, Rihanna, whose estimated net worth is $1.7 billion, chose an elegant look for the fashion show, arriving in one of Dior’s most iconic silhouettes.

Seated front row with Natalie Portman and Anya Taylor-Joy at Musee Rodin, Rihanna stole the spotlight in a black moire wrap jacket and a matching skirt, evoking the house’s iconic New Look, first introduced in 1947.
Dior’s New Look is defined by its ultra-feminine silhouette, which features rounded, prominent shoulders, a tiny waist, and enhanced hips.
Rihanna wore a Fall 2023 off-the-shoulder puffer jacket with oversized, thick lapels that accentuated her shoulders, exemplifying this iconic style. It was cinched at the waist with a black leather Dior skinny belt and paired with a midi pencil skirt to highlight hourglass curves.

Rihanna’s outfit was made of moire fabric, a modern interpretation of the house’s signature style. This fabric was a major element of Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri’s most recent Dior collection, and it was seen on many coats and dresses on Monday’s runway show.
Also known as watered silk, moire, according to Architectural Digest, originated “from the French verb moirer, meaning to produce a watered textile by weaving or pressing.” This explains the depth-enhancing wavy pattern on Rihanna’s outfit.
By accessorizing with a floppy black baseball cap and black leather gloves, Rihanna added a tomboy edge to the feminine silhouette.

Shining bright like a diamond, Rihanna looked elegant in diamonds from Hassanzadeh Jewellery. She wore a diamond drop necklace, earrings, and anklets.
Her black Lady Dior purse held her essentials for fashion week, adding to her polished appearance. Her white Amina Muaddi heels, $920 at Net-a-Porter, contrasted stylishly with the all-black ensemble.
Sleek and sophisticated, the “Kim” pumps are crafted in Italy from white patent leather and feature slender ankle straps adorned with silver-tone buckles. They also have pointed toes and 4-inch heels, further boosting Rihanna’s 5’8” height.

Kudos to Rihanna’s trusted stylist, Jahleel Weaver, for curating her Fashion Week comeback look.
Meanwhile, Yusef Williams arranged the singer’s hair in waves and tucked it beneath her black cap. Strands framed her exquisitely applied makeup.
Completing her glam, Priscila Ono gave Rihanna overlined ombre lipstick, mascara, and rosy cheeks.
