The color red ruled at the Oscars this year!
From wine to bright to fiery, red was the clear runaway winner for many celebrities on the 2011 Oscars red carpet:

Red was still THE color choice even off the Oscars red carpet. Celebs still rocked the red at many of the Oscars after-parties :

Maybe these stars’ stylists were sent a memo about wearing red to the Oscars, we don’t know, but all this crimson worn all at the same time is too good to be a coincidence.
If it IS a coincidence, then kudos to all these celebrities who weren’t afraid of blending in and being matchy-matchy with the red carpet laid out under their feet.

Even if many wore the same color that night, these celebrities in red still stood out from the crowd.
Red not only is (and has always been) an eye-catching and attention-grabbing color, but it’s also a hue that the wearer needs to have a lot of confidence and poise to pull off.
