Rachel McAdams showcased her classic elegant approach to red carpet dressing at the recently concluded 2024 Tony Awards, where she was nominated for Best Leading Actress in a Play for her role in Mary Jane.
Though McAdams’ portrayal of the title role in Mary Jane may not have wowed the Tony committee members as much as Sarah Paulson’s in the play Appropriate, I was nonetheless impressed by the former’s more sophisticated appearance for the event.

Mary Jane: Navigating the Realities of Motherhood
Inspired by the life of Frances, Amy Herzog’s daughter who passed away at 11 in 2023 from nemaline myopathy, Mary Jane is a semi-autobiographical drama that delves into the sacrifices and realities of motherhood.
It follows the story of a single mother, Mary Jane (McAdams), who struggles to care for her chronically sick son, Alex, and finds herself creating a community of women from different walks of life.
Elegant in a Sheer Black Givenchy Dress
You can never go wrong with black; it’s stylish, sophisticated, and, in my opinion, universally flattering.
For example, Rachel McAdam’s black Givenchy dress perfectly enhances her light skin tone, instantly elevating her appearance. I admire the way her dress skillfully strikes a balance between sensual and sophisticated elements.

Although it appears to be a simple black one-shoulder dress, upon closer look, you can tell that it’s made of translucent fabric, revealing a glimpse of her breasts and belly. The slinky slip silhouette that gracefully drapes her figure enhances the ensemble’s sensual flair, while the short train trailing behind her adds an elegant touch to the look.
It also boasts barely-there spaghetti straps that hold the asymmetrical ivory satin neckline in place. The rear is equally as provocative as the front, with a plunging V-shaped back dipping just above her bum.

Styling the Minimalist Dress with Dazzling Accessories
With an estimated net worth of $25M, McAdams elevated the minimalist sheer black dress with sparkling jewelry by Tiffany & Co., worth over $200,000.
I appreciate that she decided to forgo the necklace in favor of statement earrings, bangles, and rings. She fastened three pairs of multi-sized diamond studs and platinum diamond drop earrings to her ears, adding radiance to her beauty look.
On her right wrist, she wore the $75,900 Tiffany Edge Multi-row Bypass platinum bracelet, which features an 18k yellow gold accent and multiple rows of round brilliant diamonds totaling 10.87 carats. She also sported the $42,000 Tiffany Lock 18k white gold bangle with handset 4.99-carat round brilliant diamonds.

Four sparkling Tiffany rings adorned her white-manicured hands. These include the $22,300 Tiffany Soleste platinum band ring set with five rows of 3.75-carat round brilliant diamonds and the Paloma’s Melody 18k white gold ring made from interlocking bands with round brilliant diamonds.
I think McAdams looks gorgeous with any makeup. Her light brown hair was fashioned in bouncy waves flowing around her shoulders, while her glam featured peachy makeup with gold eyeshadow highlighting her blue eyes. A swipe of pink lipstick completed her look.
Towering Santoni Heels
The Notebook actress put her feet into a pair of Santoni heels, which added a few inches to her 5’4” height. The shoes were secured to the ankles by the Italian brand’s iconic double-buckled strap. Finishing touches include platforms and extremely high stiletto heels.
Eva Longoria and Selena Gomez were previously spotted wearing the same Santoni sandals.
