The collaboration of Puma and Alexander McQueen may have ended with the release of the Final Autumn/Winter 2010 Collection, but don’t despair Puma x McQueen followers. The fashion legend continues to live on in his many outstanding designs.
One of them is this eye-catching sneaker and wedge hybrid Alexander McQueen created especially for Puma’s women’s line that you can find at Amazon:
Puma Sport Fashion AMQ Elevate, $229
These are the AMQ Elevate sneakers and Alexander McQueen’s keen eye for details and out-of-the-box thinking are very evident on these unusual lace-up shoes. They’re part leather and part elasticized straps with a bit of silver hardware thrown in on the eyelets and the Alexander McQueen nameplate.
I am loving how the bold Puma stripe is given the cutout treatment and how the straps slip through the holes. The harness effect on the heel is very interesting to look at and it balances out the stark whiteness of the rubber outsoles.
Speaking of which, this is the pattern on the soles of these sneaker wedges:
Although the Puma cat (or the mancat) and the perforated design we often see on sneaker uppers have been demoted to the soles, you gotta admit that it makes for a very cool tread mark.

These are what I would consider the men’s version of the women’s AMQ Elevate because of the similar cutout design along the top of the sneakers.
At $229.00 for the AMQ Elevates and $299.00 for the AMQ Technical K.Os, you know that those are very good prices for a piece of the Alexander McQueen legend.
