The stars were back on the red carpet this year for the 31st Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival gala. The event marked the beginning of the awards season, and it will continue through January 13 in Southern California.
A-list celebrities as well as this year’s big award contenders, including Jennifer Lopez and Charlize Theron, walked the red carpet in their stunning designer outfits. They have set a high bar in the fashion department this awards season.
Here are the rest of the best dressed attendees at the gala.
1. Renee Zellweger Exudes Sexy Elegance in Jason Wu
She has received critical acclaim for portraying Judy Garland in the biopic film Judy. On Thursday, Renée Zellweger took home the Desert Palm Achievement Actress Award for her role in the biographical drama.
She’s also up for a Golden Globe Best Actress award in a drama film for Judy on Sunday.
For the PSIFF gala, the 50-year-old actress wore a Jason Wu Collection Spring 2020 outfit. Her all-black look included a pair of tuxedo pants and a one-shoulder top with ruffled tulle and peplum detail.

2. Greta Gerwig Is Choir-Ready in Gucci Dress
Actress and filmmaker Greta Gerwig attended the event to present Quentin Tarantino with the Director of the Year Award.
The Little Women director typically wears loose-fitting ankle-length dresses, and her latest look was no different. She opted for a custom Gucci Spring 2020 purple velvet frock, which features pink bead fringe on the bodice.
