Padma Lakshmi may be known as a top model, award-winning cookbook writer, and stylish host of the reality TV show Top Chef.
Aside from these achievements, the exotic beauty has tried her hand at designing jewelry. She launched her own fine jewelry collection, Padma, back in 2009, and this March, she will be introducing a new fashion jewelry line in partnership with HSN called PL by Padma Lakshmi.
Recently, the kitchen maven slash designer was spotted wearing a few baubles from her own collection when she attended two separate events — the “So You Think You Can Roast!?” show held at The Friars Club in New York and the Winter TCA Tour at Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena, California.

Padma describes her new collection as 80’s Chanel-inspired, which her long pearl strand is an example of. Here are close-up shots of her jewelry:

The necklace is very simple yet classic and wearable. It consists of pearls hung on a gold chain; a necklace like this is so versatile and can be worn as one long chain or twisted to create multiple layers.
Padma also wore several goldtone bangles with drop crystals and beads.

Her second necklace is more exotic with its design, color, and choice of beads. A tubular bead connected to a round stone serves as the necklace’s focal point.
It’s quite obvious where her style inspiration for this necklace comes from and it all traces back to her Indian roots.
We’re looking forward to seeing Padma’s new collection, however, there’s still a month to go.
In the meantime, here are some costume jewelry pieces in different styles such as classic, exotic and contemporary — all from Nordstrom — which you can wear depending on your mood and outfit. Go ahead and take your pick:
