Gasp! Did Olivia Palermo commit a fashion faux pas?
While we have been nothing but oh-so-in-love with Olivia Palermo and her quirky yet polished style, did she push the envelope too far this time and upset the sartorial gods (or the silhouette-sensitive The Sartorialist himself, for that matter)?

We thought this girl could do no wrong, but this structured plaid dress and knee-high suede Highland boots combination may have sounded the fashion alarms off on her for the first time. It seems we all have our bad days.

As a self-confessed Zara enthusiast, it’s no surprise that her stunning structured plaid dress hails from the beloved brand.

Known for her experimental style, Olivia completed her look with Stuart Weitzman’s Highland, a pair of stretchy suede over-the-knee boots in “topo.”

We don’t have much to say about the outfit per se, but it elicited a few cringes from us.
While we adore Olivia’s ability to mix colors, silhouettes, and patterns to create a style that is uniquely her own, we think this combination just didn’t quite cut it.
It’s almost as if she forgot to pack her heels and decided to go with whatever was available.

We’re sure she knew she was going to Paris and not Scotland, so we’re just slightly baffled about what inspired this ensemble. One thing is sure, though — Olivia didn’t disappoint when she picked out that dress.
Plaid seems to be returning for fall, so we recommend getting this hot number while it’s still available.
