Celebrities seemed to be all about promoting their political and social causes at this year’s Academy Awards, and Olivia Culpo was no exception.
The former Miss USA donned a custom gown for the 89th annual event as part of the “Buy a Lady a Drink” campaign, which aims to spread awareness about the global water crisis. Her red carpet look was the product of a joint collaboration between Marchesa, Water.org and Stella Artois.
Some of the other ladies who used the opportunity to promote various agendas included Emma Roberts, who partnered with Red Carpet Green Dress to promote sustainable fashion. Karlie Kloss and Ruth Negga stood by the American Civil Liberties Union, and Emma Stone and Dakota Johnson showed their support for Planned Parenthood.

Olivia oozed vintage glamour in a custom Marchesa gown that featured a plunging neckline and a multi-tiered skirt. The gown featured a sleeveless design and a whole lot of fringe, and the entire creation was tied together with a contrasting black ribbon around the waist. The custom piece also showcased glass beads made from limited edition chalices, courtesy of Stella Artois.
Olivia styled her hair into a sleek ponytail with side-swept bangs. She highlighted her dewy skin with lavender eye makeup, and finished off her entire look with nude lips, a black clutch and silver heels.
The 24-year-old actress and model also spent a portion of her evening chatting with Ryan Seacrest. Olivia elaborated on the charitable component of her dress, speaking to her involvement in its creation.
Olivia shared photos through social media of her Oscars preparation, while makeup artist Sir John highlighted the detailing of her lavender-shaded smoky eyes. Marchesa also posted a snap of Olivia on the red carpet, giving a more detailed look at her custom gown.
