“The Hills: New Beginnings” debuted in 2019 and features a wide array of familiar faces that we all grew to know and love at the beginning of the new millennium.
But, what are the 2000s without drama? After only one season, a prominent cast member of “The Hills: New Beginnings” has already announced that she won’t be returning for any subsequent seasons.

Mischa Barton, one of the show’s most prominent personalities and stars, has announced that she won’t be back after the show’s first season.

Mischa is most known for her leading role as Marissa Cooper in the hit 2000s drama, “The O.C.,” which ran for four seasons on Fox.
While Mischa wasn’t part of the original cast of “The Hills,” she was added as a leading member of the show’s reboot, likely due to her overwhelming popularity in the 2000s.
Before Misha announced her decision to quit the show, fans had started speculating, based on a lack of Mischa’s name on the second season’s confirmed cast list.

Let’s take a look at some of the clues surrounding the main question that fans have been asking: “Why won’t Mischa Barton be returning for the upcoming season of The Hills: New Beginnings?”
Top Speculations As To Why Mischa Barton Is Leaving ‘The Hills: New Beginnings’
Fans of both “The Hills” and “The O.C.” were pretty surprised to see Mischa listed as a cast member for “The Hills: New Beginnings,” since she wasn’t part of the original “The Hills” when it premiered in 2006.

It turns out that attempting to mesh both “The Hills” and “The O.C.” just for the sake of nostalgia wasn’t really a great idea.
Mischa tended to avoid drama during “The Hills: New Beginning,” and served as an emotionally stable voice of reason and logic.
For producers — who wanted a bit more drama and entertainment on par with the original shows — that just didn’t work.
Other cast members seemed to agree with the producers.

“No offense to Mischa, but we don’t really miss Mischa,” “The Hills” actor Brody Jenner said. “Bringing Mischa on, to begin with, was just, it was sort of awkward.”
Brody reprised his role from the original “The Hills” show.
Regardless, “The Hills: New Beginnings” will go on, sans Mischa.
