Michelle Yeoh has been wearing a lot of sleek and stylish Balenciaga ensembles while promoting her new Paramount+ movie, Star Trek: Section 31. During the recent lighting of the Empire State Building, the Golden Globes winner looked stunning in a pinstriped Balenciaga suit and the brand’s iconic pantaboots. She appeared to be sporting the same boots with a glimmering Balenciaga dress at the movie’s premiere on Wednesday.
Her wardrobe selections for this press tour are exquisite. Yeoh plays Philippa Georgiou in the movie, and I love how her character’s poised demeanor, commanding presence, and sharp sense of fashion are all perfectly captured in her clothing.

From slouchy suits with sleek boots to relaxed winter clothing with rugged boots, let’s look at her chic press tour outfit selections:
Michelle Yeoh Stuns in a Bold Balenciaga Pinstripe Suit and Pantaboots at the Empire State Building
Yeoh ascended the Empire State Building with Star Trek: Section 31 director Olatunde Osunsanmi and her co-stars Omari Hardwick and Robert Kazinsky, who play Section 31 agents in the sci-fi television film.
Michelle stood out in her oversized, pinstriped Balenciaga suit. She wore the slouchy garment slightly off the shoulder, exposing her pale pink plunging sweater underneath.
Its double-breasted silhouette, notched lapels, and raw hem perfectly capture Yeoh’s signature modern and edgy aesthetic. Instead of wearing matching baggy pants, she paired her slouchy jacket with a maxi column skirt with a center front slit, demonstrating her love of sleek and feminine aesthetics.
Michelle’s latest outfit reflects her penchant for contemporary styles with eye-catching fabrics and patterns. Although I don’t always agree with her fashion choices, I’m always amazed by how well she can pull things off.

She typically favors sophisticated, classic looks but isn’t afraid to add contemporary elements to her ensembles to stay fresh and stylish.
In this instance, she paired her oversized Balenciaga suit with the Spanish fashion house’s iconic pantaboots. They’re not exactly new, but only a select few can pull them off, so it’s always interesting to see someone wearing them. Among the few celebrities who looked stunning in pantaboots were Joey King, who wore them with a chainmail top, and Kim Kardashian, who donned its nude version several times.
I appreciate Michelle’s decision to pair her gray outfit with black pantaboots. Some people may find it gloomy, but I like the sense of sophistication and confidence the combo conveys. While the boots give some edge and coolness, the suit’s pinstripe pattern adds a subtle touch of flair and refinement.
The Star Trek actress added a watch and a few rings for a dash of sparkle, but I was more drawn to her chic new bob and blunt bangs.

Winter Elegance: Michelle Yeoh Rocks a Luxe Balenciaga Coat and Rugged Roger Vivier Boots
Yeoh was spotted arriving at the CBS Mornings studio a day earlier, cozily dressed in a luxurious Balenciaga coat and sturdy boots by Roger Vivier.
Her winter coat is straightforward. I love its exaggerated silhouette, which was made in Italy using a cashmere and wool blend. Although I’m not a fan of the waist-tie belt, as it makes the coat appear like a bathrobe, I like how it accentuates her figure. The padded shoulders enhance the coat’s flair and allure, and the notched lapels add a hint of refinement. Despite its simplicity, it costs $4,790 at Mytheresa.
Never one to step out wearing a basic wardrobe, Michelle upped the ante by tying a blue scarf around her neck. I love how the coat provides a subtle backdrop for the winter staple, making it the focal point of the ensemble.
She also wore the $520 Balenciaga “Bossy” sunglasses in black Eastman Acetate Renew, an acetate alternative partially composed of recycled and bio-based materials.

Her combat boots are my favorite part of this ensemble. They’re the “Viv Go” by Roger Vivier, and they have a rugged appearance that balances her soft outerwear.
The thick lug soles offer traction, making them perfect for stylish wintertime adventures. They have an interior zip for easy wear on and off and a large metal buckle that adds to their rugged appearance. However, I wish she had worn the one with a crystal-adorned buckle for a dash of feminine glitz.

Michelle Yeoh’s choice of Roger Vivier boots not only underscores her impeccable style but also highlights the brand’s enduring appeal among fashion icons. For instance, Alexa Chung turned heads at the 2017 Fashion Awards by pairing her ensemble with Roger Vivier’s stretch-satin crystal buckle boots, showcasing the brand’s unique blend of elegance and edge.
Similarly, Amber Heard captivated audiences at the Cannes Film Festival, complementing her Giambattista Valli dress with Roger Vivier’s ‘Sin’ flower net embroidery ankle boots, a testament to the label’s intricate craftsmanship. These instances illustrate how Roger Vivier’s designs continue to be a favorite among celebrities seeking to make a statement.
Turning Heads: Michelle Yeoh Dazzles in a Sequined Leopard Balenciaga Gown at the Premiere
Yeoh went all out at the Star Trek: Section 31 world premiere at Lincoln Center in New York City last week.
She was hard to ignore in her glittering Balenciaga Fall 2024 dress, adorned with gold and black sequins intricately arranged in leopard spots. It’s wild and bold, showcasing Yeoh’s love of bold colors, patterns, and textures.
I’m not really into it, though. I thought it was too much, but Michelle pulled it off as usual. The ankle-length hem, long sleeves, and mock neck help to balance the striking leopard pattern’s boldness.

An icon of fashion and a master at accessorizing, Michelle allowed her dress to take center stage by keeping her accessories simple with just a few statement rings.
Her new fringed bob gave the ensemble a bit of edge, and she finished it off with pointed-toe boots, which I assume were the same Balenciaga pantaboots she wore to the Empire State Building.

Michelle Yeoh’s recent Balenciaga ensembles have certainly turned heads, but she’s not the only celebrity embracing the brand’s daring designs. She paired a topless fur coat with ripped tights and ultra-pointed Knife heels, showcasing her fearless fashion sense.
Nicole Kidman also paid homage to vintage fashion by wearing a 1950s-inspired Balenciaga flamenco gown at the 2024 Met Gala, blending timeless elegance with a modern twist. Here are some more standout moments:
