Given that she usually wears plain, classic clothing, you would not think of Michelle Williams as someone who enjoys fashion. I usually see her at red carpet premieres and film awards, so I was surprised to find she recently traveled to Paris Fashion Week.

Although PFW is the perfect fashion event for showcasing inventiveness and experimenting with styles, Williams preserved the sophistication associated with the city by embracing feminine, quiet luxury—from her dresses to her heels.

Sleek and Modern in Ashi Studio

On Thursday, June 27, The Fabelmans actress graced the front row at Ashi Studio’s Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2024-2025 fashion presentation, looking chic and modern in a black high-low dress.

I find it interesting that Williams’ preference for classic styles with clean lines and straightforward silhouettes resonates well with the romanticism and geometric architectural designs in the Paris-based Saudi fashion house collections. It makes perfect sense that she was invited to the coveted front row.

Though I’m not thrilled with the entire ensemble, Williams, who often leans toward neutral colors, looks stunning in the sophisticated dress.

Fusing classic and contemporary elements, the sleek, sleeveless shift dress has a refined, slightly structured high-low silhouette, which is synonymous with the brand. The front is cut a few inches above Williams’ knees with a satin hem brushing her thighs, while the extended back mimics a regal cape with a floor-sweeping train.

I find her sleeveless Ashi Studio dress elegant; however, the styling—or the lack thereof—is a letdown.

Except for her thin gold wedding band, Williams arrived completely jewelry-free. She only accessorized the sleek dress with matching sleek pumps, featured on several runway looks during the brand’s fashion show.

Fortunately, they complemented her dress well; otherwise, the ensemble would have been uninteresting to me.

Their square toplines and pointed toes give the classic pump profile a modern feel. They are secured to the actress’s ankles with slim ankle straps and rest on a slim height-boosting stiletto heel.

Just as I had expected, Williams opted for her typical understated hairstyle and makeup. She had a side-parted blonde pixie cut and accentuated her natural beauty with pink lipstick and blush.

Classy in Head-to-Toe Chanel

A few days earlier, on June 25, Williams showed up to the Chanel Fall Haute Couture 2024–2025 fashion show, wearing another black ensemble.

I’m honestly getting quite bored of her looks. As I previously stated, Paris Fashion Week allows celebrities to try something different from their typical wardrobes, but Michelle is sporting the same old black look.

Although I wish she had worn something different—perhaps a more modern or youthful appearance for a change—I can’t dispute how elegant she looked in her Chanel dress.

As soon as she stepped through the doors of the grandiose Palais Garnier, Michelle drew my attention with her luminous skin, which contrasted beautifully with her black outfit.

Its reflective silver lurex thread and black-and-silver buttons, stamped with the CC logo along the front, give the otherwise straightforward tweed garment a glamorous touch.

I adore how comfortable it appears on Williams’ frame. It has a loose-fitting bodice held in place by delicate shoulder straps, with a thick band that flatteringly cinches the waist before gracefully flowing into an A-line ankle-length skirt. It also comes with side pockets, which Williams used while confidently posing for photos.

I’m glad the Manchester by the Sea star added extra glitz to her ensemble this time, accessorizing with a few rings and minimalist $6,700 Chanel “Coco Crush” earrings. The earrings have a quilted pattern crafted from 18k white gold, a thin rhodium coating, and 32 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 0.19 carats.

Wearing her usual pixie and soft, rosy makeup, Michelle completed her PFW look with black Mary Jane pumps from Chanel’s Fall 2021 Couture collection.

These delicate shoes include Chanel’s signature grosgrain cap-toes and a strap across the vamp to keep them in place. They’re finished with stiletto heels to accentuate Michelle’s already impressive frame.
