Taking cues from the minimalism of the 1990s, it offers a variety of fashionable yet practical pieces for on-the-go women, with flowy silhouettes, sophisticated layering, a muted wintry color palette, and intricate textures dominating the runway. It’s a testament to Michael Kors’ expertise in fusing classic and contemporary styles!
A welcome contrast from the black-and-white trend at this year’s fashion week front rows, the Michael Kors presentation had our favorite celebrities wearing chic outfits in somber and earthy colors with understated shoes to balance their looks.

Kerry Washington looked like she was about to hit the dance floor!
Arriving at Terminal Warehouse’s Tunnel for the runway presentation, Washington donned a pair of Michael Kors pumps crafted from black leather with retro-style sharp, triangular pointed toes.
The slim straps elegantly crisscross at the back of the foot and secure at the ankle with a delicate buckle, adding a timeless, sophisticated, and subtly flirty touch—especially when paired with a flowing skirt like Washington’s.

Kerry Washington has consistently showcased her affinity for pointed-toe pumps, seamlessly integrating them into her sophisticated ensembles. Notably, she captivated onlookers at the 2015 Met Gala in a pink Prada gown, complemented by green satin Mary Jane stiletto pointy-toe pumps, adding a vibrant contrast to her ensemble.

Kerry decided to forgo a necklace, instead accessorizing her outfit with stud earrings and a few rings. I like how she pulled her two-toned black and brown braids into a top knot, enhancing the look’s polished, dancer-like vibe.
I appreciate each piece of the ensemble, but the black and blue combination feels a bit subdued. Though it exudes sophistication and formality, it lacks vibrancy. A pop of color—perhaps through accessories or a bold lip—could have added more dimension and energy to the look.
2. Nicole Scherzinger Radiates Elegance in a Deep Purple Floral Coat Dress and Classic Black Pumps
In contrast to her striking two-tone pumps during the Carolina Herrera NYFW show, Nicole Scherzinger opted for the boring shoe trend for her front-row appearance at the Michael Kors Fall 2025 presentation.
She accentuated her 5’5” height by donning a pair of high-heeled, pointed-toed shoes made of shiny patent leather.
Black pointy pumps are generally considered dull, mainly because they are simple and have been in style for decades. But that’s what makes them so timeless and versatile. They still appear chic and polished whether dressed up with formal wear or down with jeans.

Nicole Scherzinger consistently showcases her sophisticated style by incorporating black pumps into her ensembles. At a Carolina Herrera event during New York Fashion Week, she donned the brand’s “Classic” leather pumps featuring distinctive white cap toes, adding a unique twist to her monochrome outfit.
In another instance, Nicole embraced a menswear-inspired look at an “X Factor” press launch, pairing her attire with Kurt Geiger’s “Britton” pumps in patent leather, seamlessly blending elegance with edginess. I thought it was wise of Nicole to wear a fancy coat dress with her plain heels so that her dress would be the main attraction! It comes in a deep purple hue and features tiny black sequin floral appliques that give the structural coat dress silhouette a sense of ladylike elegance.
Its long sleeves, peak lapels, flowing A-line midi skirt, and plunging V-neck all contribute to its feminine and sophisticated style.
Scherzinger carried the black patent Michael Kors “Natalie” bag, distinguished by its vintage-inspired barrel form, delicate shoulder straps, and silver push-lock fastening.

She matched her purse to her sleek black belt, which had a silver square clasp to create coherence. I think adding a delicate necklace or a pair of earrings wouldn’t hurt, but Nicole decided to accessorize with just a few rings for a bit of sparkle.
Adding to the look’s sophistication, Nicole wore her raven hair up in a deep side-swept bun with a wavy strand falling on one side. She highlighted her features with eyeliner, mascara, and mauve lip color.
3. Ella Hunt Channels Timeless Glamour in Heart-Shaped Roger Vivier Pumps and a Chic Blue Ensemble
Ella Hunt, often seen in elegant, feminine dresses, showcased her ladylike style in a pair of Roger Vivier I Love Vivier pumps.
These aren’t just any black pumps. Their razor-sharp profile makes them instantly stand out. I adore the heart-shaped vamps, which add a quirky, elegant element to the classic pointed-toe pump silhouette.
They also have 3.5-inch slightly flared heels that give them a trendy, fashionable look. The black suede version is on sale for $553 (from $790) at Mytheresa.

She looks seductive in her loose-fitting shirt, partially unbuttoned to create a plunging off-the-shoulder neckline and reveal a hint of cleavage. It’s tucked into a floral silk-blend midi skirt and styled with Michael Kors’ Jodi knotted belt to stylishly tighten the waist and accentuate her figure.
I appreciate how she fashioned her dark hair in loose waves and wore her neck bare, which added to the look’s sensual appeal. She completed her ensemble with sleek sunglasses, Michael Kors’ Natalie barrel bag, a few rings, and tiny hoop earrings for a touch of glitter.
4. Leni Klum Embraces Boho-Chic in Floral Lace and Earthy-Toned Mules
Heidi Klum’s daughter, Leni, has been making a name for herself in fashion. And at the Michael Kors NYFW show, she was among the few who opted for open-toe heels!
Klum wore light brown open-toe mules, showcasing her bare toes. Like black pumps, mules are versatile and classic. Leni’s brown pair exudes a slightly bohemian vibe that mirrors her often effortlessly chic fashion sense.
These mules are comfy yet stylish. They feature an open back and high heels that add to the rising model’s 5’4” height. I love their brown color, which enhances her two-piece Michael Kors ensemble’s cozy, earthy feel.

Leni Klum, known for her daring wardrobe, flaunted her abs and cleavage in a rich suntan bralette top and a matching high-waisted midi skirt from the Spring 2025 Ready-to-Wear collection. Her top and skirt are crafted from ornate floral lace, with a strapless, sweetheart plunging neckline and a midi-length raw, scalloped hem.
Staying true to the theme, Leni layered a brown cardigan over the ensemble to keep warm outside the venue. She also carried a brown bag with a tassel-adorned handle, enhancing the look’s boho-chic feel.
Her bold makeup—orange eyeshadow, peachy blush, and lipstick—perfectly complemented her outfit. A slicked-back ponytail with a retro kiss swirl added a playful touch.

5. Suki Waterhouse Brings Retro Rock-n-Roll Vibes in a Strapless Playsuit and Statement Heels
Suki Waterhouse never goes for something basic, always putting a unique spin on her outfits. At the Michael Kors NYFW presentation, she wore a pair of black pumps that were far from ordinary.
Suki wore one with spool heels, starkly contrasting the pencil-thin stiletto heels. These heels have an architectural form— the top and bottom are wide, while the middle is narrower. Their wide base offers additional comfort but without sacrificing flair.
These pumps have a retro edge, perfectly complementing Suki’s rock-n-roll-inspired playsuit.

She looked flirty as she put on a leggy display in a chic black playsuit with a flattering strapless pleated neckline and a thigh-skimming hem. Suki added the Michael Kors Jodi knotted belt, similar to Ella Hunt, to further accentuate her form while providing an edgy twist to the ensemble.
Suki styled her bold playsuit with a dramatic fur jacket and covered her slender legs in black sheer tights, providing much-needed warmth and giving the bold ensemble a risqué edge.

6. Rachel Zegler Oozes Sophistication in a Breezy Brown-and-Black Floral Ensemble
Like Nicole Scherzinger, Rachel Zegler opted for minimalist black pointed-toe pumps. They were not the main attraction of her outfit, but they undoubtedly gave it a more sophisticated touch.
Although I would have preferred brown pumps to complement her dress’s brown tones, I like the contrast the black pumps provide. They produced a striking, bold, and edgy combination.
These patent leather pumps have pointed toes and stiletto heels, adding inches to Zegler’s 5’2” height.

Rachel Zegler proved that minimalist black pumps can still make a statement, pairing hers with a breezy bodysuit and midi skirt. Although not the most conventional color combination for flower prints, I love how the brown and black colors produce a stunning and distinctive appearance. The brown color makes the pattern stand out as it blends well with the black background.
It looks summery with spaghetti straps, a plunging V-neckline, and a breezy silk-blend skirt with an asymmetric thigh-high slit. But I love how the somber hues of brown and black made the summery silhouette appropriate for winter months.
