Maya Hansen’s collection at Madrid Fashion Week caught our eye for obvious reasons that you’ll soon see!
Maya Carbajal Alex-Hansen was born in Madrid and graduated with honors in 2002 from Centro Superior de Diseño de Moda de Madrid. In 2000, she won the Spanish Price at the Porto Fashion Award with a collection based on the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava’s work. Maya then won the price a second time at the Smirnoff Fashion Awards in 2001.
In February of 2002, she presented her first collection at the Barcelona Gaudí Fashion Show in Spain. Ten years later, here we are.
Check out her amazing Fall and Winter 2013 shoes below!
Futuristic Meets Gladiator
Princess Leia Meets Boho Babe
The whimsical animal print in these pieces adds an element of fun to otherwise serious, dark, and glamorous styles. I also love how lace-up boots and booties never seem to go out of style!
Regal Black and Gold Brocade
I adore the combo of black and gold. These styles have a very royal feel, and I love their theatrical value!
Amazonian Goddess Glam
(I know that there are absolutely no shoes in the above image, but how fabulous is this fur?!)

Again, these printed boots have a slightly whimsical feel, but the rest of her ensemble screams Amazonian warrior princess! This collection is definitely not for everyday wear, but the shoes are so fun we have to appreciate them!
It’s easy to see why celebs like Lady Gaga have worn Maya’s collections in the past. Her use of corsets and armorlike details has the edgy vibe that celebs love to show off!
