2023 has come and gone, but Margot Robbie appears not quite ready to let go of her Barbie persona just yet.
Kicking off the 2024 awards season in style, Margot Robbie returned to her Barbie era as she wore a bubblegum pink outfit to the 35th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards held at the Palm Springs Convention Center on Thursday.
As evidenced by the 33-year-old actress’s look, the Barbiecore trend isn’t going anywhere this year.

The Suicide Squad star led the style pack at the star-studded occasion, attended by high-profile celebrities like Eva Longoria, Greta Gerwig, Billie Eilish, Emma Stone, America Ferreira, Meryl Streep, Kirsten Dunst, and Taraji P. Henson.
Paying homage to her Barbie movie, which became the highest-grossing film of 2023 with $1.44 billion in revenue, Margot Robbie donned a retro-style pale pink mini dress from Balmain’s Spring 2024 collection.
The collection was designed by Olivier Rousteing, creative director of Balmain, drawing heavily from Pierre Balmain’s 1940s–1950s archives and his penchant for roses.

Margot’s feminine, flirty dress featured black polka dots, a popular 1950s fashion trend favored by celebrities like Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor.
In addition, it had a flattering draped corset bodice with a V-shaped neckline for a hint of cleavage, long sleeves with retro puff shoulders, and a structured miniskirt that drew attention to Robbie’s toned legs.
The rosettes on the left bust and right hip added a feminine touch to the design. Seemingly proud of his creation, Rousteing posted a photo of Robbie on Instagram with the caption, “La Femme Balmain. The best way to start the year with the one that admire and represent so much The Balmain beauté #MargotRobbie Happy new year in Balmain spring summer 2024.”

Continuing with the Barbie theme of her look, Margot slipped her size 7 feet into a pair of pink polka-dot mules, custom designed by Manolo Blahnik for The Legend of Tarzan actress.
They are bubblegum pink with black polka dots, matching her dress, and have peep toes and four-inch heels.
Her trusted stylist, Andrew Mukamal, curated her awards show look, which he finished with pearl accessories from The House of Assael. This New York-based family-owned company is a premier distributor of cultured pearls, exquisite pearl jewelry, and ethically sourced coral.
Margot looked stunning in the “Double Trouble” Tahitian Pearl Earrings, which feature nearly invisible connectors that make it comfortable and stylish to wear two 15mm Tahitian Natural Colored Culture Pearls together on one ear.
She also accessorized with a 16mm Tahitian Pearl Ring set in platinum with 2.73 carats of pear-shaped diamonds. Margo completed her Barbiecore ensemble by carrying a custom Balmain bag shaped like a rose in a matching pink color.

When it came to her glam, Robbie fashioned her blonde hair in beachy loose waves, framing her minimally made-up face. She wore Barbie-esque pale pink makeup with pink lipstick, blush, mascara, and eyeshadow to accentuate her blue eyes.
Margot was joined on the red carpet by her husband of seven years, Tom Ackerley, who opted for a classic tuxedo with a white shirt and a black bow tie.
Barbie writer and director Greta Gerwig was also at the event, where she was presented with the Director of the Year award.
