Malone Souliers is a London-based luxury footwear brand known for its sleek, elegant, and well-fitted designs.
Since its launch in 2014, the brand has established itself as an incredibly successful business enterprise that remains prominent in today’s market. The brand was initially co-founded by creative director Mary Alice Malone and former managing director Roy Luwolt.

In 2018, a four-month hiatus from Malone resulted in a turbulent year in the brand’s leadership. In December 2018, Luwolt officially stepped away from the company. Since then, along with CEO Steven Hope and the rest of her team, Malone has continued her work.
A New Chapter in Creative Leadership
In June 2023, Malone Souliers announced significant changes to its creative leadership, appointing long-time team members Coco Fong and Valerio Bava as co-creative directors. Founder Mary Alice Malone stated that Fong and Bava would continue developing the brand’s unique aesthetic while bringing their creative vision to the forefront.
With this transition, Malone will continue her work as chief brand director and focus on strategic planning, business growth, and expansion into new markets while overseeing Fong and Bava’s contributions to the brand.
The Malone Souliers Pronunciation and Identity
A French word for ‘shoe,’ Soulier, pronounced in English as “soo-lee-ay,” keeps with the company’s international identity. Despite being a Pennsylvania native, Mary Alice Malone attributes her decision to open a London office to the city’s versatility.

Craftsmanship and Iconic Designs
Being based in the English capital allows for both the business advantages of a global hub and the benefits of its cultural inclination toward fashion. As for the shoes themselves?
They are made in Italy, using the highest quality materials, and finished by hand by expert artisans.
Soon after its drop, Malone Souliers quickly became known for the “Maureen” – a now-classic style that has never lost its best-selling flair.
Spotted on Ellie Goulding and Maria Borges, its silhouette is said to hug the natural curves of the feet, and delicate straps at the front finalize its coveted look.

Empowerment Through Design
According to its namesake, Mary Alice Malone, Malone Souliers aimed to transmit a message of women empowerment to its clientele.
With a style described as modern and timeless, the label’s particular approach to shoemaking is widely recognizable in the fashion community.

Expansion into Men’s Footwear
Having become known for quintessentially feminine designs, the company caught the attention of consumers and competitors when it announced its first men’s collection in 2019.
Not a French footwear label, Malone Souliers was founded by two Americans in London, and its shoes are made in Italy
Mary Alice Malone, the creative force behind the label, infused the men’s line with her signature dedication to simplicity and functionality. Her aim? To offer men equally elegant footwear options that don’t compromise comfort or craftsmanship.
Comfort and Sizing
According to the brand, the shoes adhere to standard Italian sizing and are said by most internet users to be true to size and comfortable. Malone Souliers recommends customers with a higher instep buy half a size up.
Malone Souliers may or may not be your style, but it isn’t hard to see why the brand has had such enormous success over the years.
