The 2023 Grammy Awards on February 5 at a multi-purpose indoor arena in Downtown Los Angeles was filled with breathtaking fashion moments, but none quite like Lizzo’s showstopping ensemble.
On the Awards night, Lizzo stole the show with three breathtaking outfit changes, a fantastic performance, and an emotional acceptance speech, all of which culminated in her taking home another golden gramophone for Record of the Year.
The 34-year-old singer walked in looking stunning, effortlessly dominating attention and leaving everyone astonished.

She drew attention to herself on the red carpet by initially coming in an orange-red flower cape that framed her radiant face. Adorned with a floral design, the singer looked bold and sophisticated in her orange Dolce & Gabbana cape.
As Lizzo walked the red carpet, she revealed the full beauty of her attire by draping the cloak over her shoulders to show a stunning orange Dolce & Gabbana gown.
The gown was a showstopper with its rhinestone straps and matching sheer fingerless gloves. The intricate details of the dress were accentuated by the delicate spit curl on the singer’s forehead and the lone flower in her hair.
She accessorized the gown with two giant diamond rings that glistened like jewel-studded blossoms on her fingertips and wore eyeshadow tones that contrasted her outfit.

The singer attended the Grammy Awards alongside her boyfriend, Myke Wright, who opted for a timeless look in a black and white suit.
Lizzo was nominated for a whopping five trophies at this year’s ceremony. She was up for several awards: Record of the Year for “About Damn Time,” Album of the Year for “Special,” Song of the Year for “About Damn Time,” Best Pop Vocal Album for “Special,” and Best Pop Solo Performance for “About Damn Time.”
The singer’s album “Special,” released in July, achieved rank two on the Billboard 200 chart. This album contains Lizzo’s “About Damn Time,” which has achieved double platinum status in the United States and gained popularity on TikTok.
Lizzo had already won three Grammys by the time the 65th ceremony took place. She received awards for Best Pop Solo Performance for “Truth Hurts,” Best Traditional R&B Performance, and Best Urban Contemporary Album for her 2019 album, Cuz I Love You.

The singer, a Grammys regular, once again graced the stage this year, dazzling the audience with her incredible vocals.
Lizzo upped the glam factor with a new outfit and hairstyle for her Grammys performance of “About Damn Time” and “Special.” She performed in a modern twist on the little black dress, which had a satin corset bodice embellished with rhinestones, voluminous shoulder sleeves, and a fluffy train, all of which added to the dramatic effect of her powerful vocals.
The 2 Be Loved (Am I Ready) singer accessorized her tights, hairstyle, and pointed bejeweled boots with a large diamond cross necklace and a gleaming diamond stud. Her performance was bolstered by a group of black ladies dressed in gold-embossed robes singing in harmony with her.
Lizzo’s third and final outfit choice for the 2023 Grammys was a silver party dress with short elbow patches and rose heels, which she unexpectedly paired with her idol Beyoncé. Wearing this, she sat in the audience alongside Grammy-winning singer Adele.
Additionally, Lizzo wore this outfit when she accepted the Grammy Award for Record of the Year for her feel-good anthem “About Damn Time.”

Classically trained on the flute since she was ten years old, she triumphed over such heavyweights as ABBA, Adele, Beyoncé, Brandi Carlile, Doja Cat, Harry Styles, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, and Steve Lacy.
During her emotional victory speech, she reflected on her undying love for Queen Bey and Prince and spoke of the underlying goodness of humanity.
Lizzo cracked jokes in her message, “Beyoncé, in the fifth grade, I skipped school to see you perform. My sister, she got me out of school — It was literature, I’m good”. She elaborated, “You changed my life. You sang that gospel medley, and the way you made me feel — I was like, ‘I want to make people feel this way with my music.’ So thank you so much. You clearly are the artist of our lives. I love you!”
Before his death in 2016, Lizzo said that the late Prince had been her inspiration throughout her successful music career.
“When we lost Prince, I decided to dedicate my life to making positive music. I was like, ‘I don’t care if my positivity bothers you, what’s wrong with you?'” She continued, “And this was at a time when positive music and feel-good music wasn’t mainstream at that point, and I felt very misunderstood. I felt on the outside looking in.”
Lizzo stated she was determined not to be deterred “because I wanted to make the world a better place, so I had to be that change” and that she is “just proud to be a part of it” now that there are songs about “loving our bodies and feeling comfortable in our skin.”
The Record of the Year Award honors the performer and the song’s producer, recording engineer, mixer, and mastering engineer.
Taking the crown from Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” in 1994, Lizzo is the first black woman to win Record of the Year since then.
Lizzo is a queen of authentic music and style, bringing joy and authenticity to her fans. Her supporters eagerly await her next fantastic achievement.
