The Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons theme of this year’s Met Gala churned out some pretty interesting interpretations of avant-garde fashion. Lily Aldridge, Celine Dion, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj had some of the most memorable looks at the star-studded fashion event, and Lily Collins pulled out all the stops in a breathtaking Giambattista Valli couture look punctuated by a striking abbreviated bob.
The 28-year-old actress and model’s tightly-cropped blunt-banged onyx bob referenced Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo’s avant-garde style. It also made her look like a gothic flapper girl and added cool edge to her frothy princess gown.
Lily wore a two-tone gown from Giambattista Valli’s Fall 2016 couture collection. It featured a strapless black corset top detailed with beaded embellishments. Her dress also had a billowy tulle skirt in a pretty blush pink shade, which added a dose of feminine charm to her edgy look.
She completed her show-stopping ensemble with spidery lashes, deep burgundy lips and Charlotte Olympia heels that we’ve previously spotted on Olivia Wilde. We couldn’t see her shoes due to the length of her gown, but she shared a photo on Instagram that featured her sandals.

Lily wore the “Eugenie” peep-toed sandals from Charlotte Olympia, which feature lustrous black suede and high block heels. These shoes also have adjustable side buckle closures, slender ankle straps and the label’s signature gold spider web logo on the soles. You can get your own pair for $745 at Net-A-Porter.
