The meeting of Adam Brody and Leighton Meester reads as a Hollywood love story come to life. The two actors started dating one year after filming the 2011 movie “The Oranges,” where they played each other’s love interest.
According to sources, there was an instant spark between them, and they quickly hit it off. Despite their undeniable chemistry, it wasn’t until two years later that the couple started dating. In 2013, rumors began to swirl that Adam and Leighton were an item, and paparazzi caught them on several romantic outings together.

In an episode of Anna Faris’ Unqualified podcast aired on March 29, 2021, Adam Brody finally opened up about how he and Leighton Meester first crossed paths.
According to Brody, it all started with a chance encounter at a popular Los Angeles eatery, Canter’s Deli, a Jewish-style delicatessen.
Adam Brody and Leighton Meester were introduced to each other by the famous producer Josh Schwartz. Interestingly, Schwartz produced both Gossip Girl, the show Meester was starring in, and The O.C., which Brody had appeared on.
“The first time we met, that whole cast was eating at Canter’s,” he revealed, referring to the Gossip Girl cast and crew.

“I lived at Canter’s for, like, my entire 20s.” Although Brody and Meester kept bumping into each other over the next few years, it wasn’t until they worked together on the film “The Oranges” that their relationship began to blossom.
“We met kind of through mutual work friends off and on,” Brody explained. “I was seeing someone at the time, so we didn’t get together until about a year after that movie, when I was single.”
“She’s like, the strongest, best person I know. She is my moral compass and North Star, and I just can’t say enough good things about her character. It’s crazy,” he said.
“Nobody has said a bad thing about her. She’s never been rude to, like, a single person in her life, except — and I give her credit for this — paparazzi, where I’m too self-conscious. I wouldn’t say rude, but like, people will try to get her to sign some sexy old photo or something that aren’t fans but they pretend to be fans … and, forgive me, it’s sort of a bottom-feeding thing … She has no problem being like, ‘You can hate me. I don’t care.’ But no genuine person has a bad thing to say about her.”
Fans were thrilled to see the two actors together, especially given their shared TV fame: Adam was best known for his role as Seth Cohen on The O.C., while Leighton played Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl.

Fast forward to 2014, and Adam and Leighton were ready to take the next step in their relationship. In a surprise move, the couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in February of that year. The details of their wedding were kept under wraps, but sources say it was a low-key affair with just family and close friends in attendance.
Since then, Adam and Leighton have welcomed two children and have become one of Hollywood’s most beloved couples. They often gush about each other in interviews and on social media, proving that their love story is one for the ages.

In the candid conversation, the actor shared his thoughts on the idea of marriage and children, revealing that he was never afraid of the concept. According to Brody, the notion of settling down and starting a family always seemed like a natural progression in life.

“I was never scared of the idea of marriage or kids,” he explained. “It always seemed, you know, like a route I would go eventually, and I was excited to when it, you know, when it came together, when I met the right person.”
“My wife and I actually got married very fast after we started dating,” he said. “That’s how sort of easy a decision it was for me and us.”

Leighton Meester’s personality may be the polar opposite of her “Gossip Girl” character’s personality, but Leighton’s style rivals Blair Waldorf’s style all day, every day.
In April 2014, Leighton arrived at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival in a gorgeous Emporio Armani dress that turned heads. She was joined on the red carpet by Gillian Jacobs, Abby Elliott, and Gabourey Sidibe.
Leighton, who appeared at the festival for a screening of the 2014 American romantic comedy-drama film Life Partners, was radiant in a blue-on-blue dress from the designer’s Spring 2014 collection.
