Kim has been very vocal about her struggle with psoriasis since her diagnosis in 2011. The chronic skin condition, which she most likely got from her mother, Kris, is incurable and often hereditary.
According to the Mayo Clinic, psoriasis leads to a rash with itchy, scaly patches, typically on the knees, elbows, trunk, and scalp. Although there’s no cure, the condition can be painful, disrupt sleep, and affect concentration. Psoriasis often goes through cycles of flare-ups and remission, with common triggers including infections, skin injuries, and certain medications in those who are genetically predisposed.
