Kerry Washington looked merry and cozy in winter-appropriate ensembles as she made the rounds in New York City to support her new movie The Six Triple Eight.
She began this week’s promotion by lighting up the Empire State Building with her co-stars while wearing Aquazzura platform pumps and a burgundy Emilia Wickstead dress. Kerry was photographed that same day in a black coat, slacks, and Christian Louboutin platform boots ahead of the movie’s premiere at The Crosby Hotel. More recently, she was pictured in a Missoni striped dress with Santoni boots outside The View.

I’ve always admired Kerry’s diverse style and eclectic wardrobe, which often combines contemporary fashion with Old Hollywood glamour. She usually dresses in timeless, sophisticated gowns but occasionally dons laid-back, edgy outfits. Throughout this press tour, she has impressed us with sophisticated outfits incorporating modern and sleek elements to create eye-catching looks.
Kerry Washington’s Missoni Striped Dress and Santoni Boots
Dropping by The View to promote her new movie, The Six Triple Eight, Kerry Washington donned a striped dress from Missoni’s Spring 2025 collection.
Stripes have been a staple in fashion, appearing in many different styles, including retro. While there are modern striped outfits, bold, thick, and vibrant stripes often give a retro feel. This is evident in Kerry’s dress, which has vivid orange, black, and white stripes that give it a vintage feel.
Her Missoni dress features loose, wide sleeves and a high neck. It looks like Kerry had hers altered to be more modest, as opposed to the original runway design, which featured a bold slit in the middle that showed some cleavage.
The striped dress featured side slits, allowing Kerry to move gracefully while showcasing her toned legs. Unfortunately, we could not see her dress in all its beauty as she bundled up with a black wool coat outside the studio.

Her shoes are at least visible, and like Louboutin’s red soles, they are instantly recognizable as Santoni, thanks to their orange soles.
She wore a pair of $1,700 classic knee-high boots. These boots have a slimming, soft Nappa leather shaft, a comfy round toe, and an inner side zip for easy wear on and off. They sit on subtle platforms with 3.5-inch block heels for a boost in height.
To complete the retro look, Kerry wore several rings and hoop earrings that showed through her voluminous, curly hair.
Her $420 black Aupen “Nirvana” bag, with its asymmetrical design, added a contemporary touch to the retro-inspired ensemble. Kerry looks more elegant thanks to this sleek bag, which radiates simple sophistication.

Kerry Washington’s All-Black Winter Outfit and Christian Louboutin Loo Booty
Washington was pictured cozying up in a black wool coat outside The Crosby Hotel before attending the premiere of The Six Triple Eight.
Black wool coats are a classic and versatile winter wardrobe staple. I adore them because they instantly lend a sense of refinement and elegance to any ensemble, whether dressed up or down.
As for Kerry, she chose to keep things laid back but still sophisticated with wide-leg trousers. I couldn’t tell what was underneath her long, boxy coat, but it would look great with a glittering top for a festive vibe or a contemporary black top to enhance the look’s refinement.

Kerry kept her accessory choices simple, with only a diamond ring lending a hint of glitz to the all-black look. She carried her evening essentials in a black leather bag and completed the wintry ensemble with platform ankle boots.
Kerry completed her look with Christian Louboutin’s signature Loo platform bootie, instantly recognizable by its iconic red soles. I love how the soles contrast with the black veau velour uppers, adding a touch of elegance to the relatively simple look.
They have towering 5-inch heels that fall smoothly to an almond toe with thick platforms, adding height to Kerry’s 5’4” stature. You can get them for $1,495 at Nordstrom.

Kerry Washington’s Merry Burgundy Emilia Wickstead Dress and Aquazzura Platform Pumps
Earlier in the day, Kerry was pictured looking merry and holiday-ready in a burgundy red dress as she lit up the Empire State Building with her The Six Triple Eight co-star Ebony Obsidian and director Tyler Perry.
She looks regal in the dark red double crepe number, which features a modest silhouette. It has a high collar, short sleeves, and sculpted darting throughout the tight bodice that falls into a somewhat structured floor-sweeping A-line skirt.
Kerry got her $2,425 “Malinda” dress from Emilia Wickstead, a UK-based Kiwi fashion designer known for her exquisite craftsmanship, use of color, and gorgeous silhouettes. The designer’s style is evident in Kerry’s dress, which strikes the ideal balance between luxury and a modest silhouette.
Some may find it simple, but I appreciate how the uncomplicated design made her appear taller. Because of their continuous length, which aesthetically lengthens the frame, simple maxi dresses, like Kerry’s, can lengthen the body.
She added just the right amount of glitter to her look with minimal jewelry, which made for a sophisticated holiday ensemble. She ditched the necklace and wore a tennis bracelet and a couple of diamond rings, letting her dress speak for itself.

Kerry wore her long hair in stunning waves and finished her ensemble with black platform heels, which added even more length to her appearance.
I couldn’t get a good look at her shoes, but it was reported that she was wearing a pair by Aquazzura with black tights, which give the outfit a festive, seasonally fitting touch.
She wore the “So High Pleateau” pumps, set on towering 5.5-inch block heels and thick platforms. Made in Italy from lustrous satin, they’re fastened to the ankles with adjustable buckle-fastening straps.
These Aquazzura pumps are on sale for $390 (from $975) at Net-a-Porter. Actress McKenna Grace was spotted wearing the same pumps at the New York premiere of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire in March.

The Six Triple Eight is a war drama movie about the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, an all-female, all-black battalion during World War II. They were deployed in Europe to address postal problems by delivering long-delayed mail to improve the soldiers’ morale on the front lines.
Washington plays Major Charity Adams, the commanding officer of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion. It also stars Ebony Obsidian, Dean Norris, Sam Waterston, Oprah Winfrey, and Susan Sarandon.
Based on the 2019 WWII History magazine article, “Fighting a Two-Front War” by Kevin M. Hymel, the film is now streaming on Netflix.
