By now you’ve probably already heard that Katy Perry did a total of four wardrobe changes during the MTV Video Music Awards that took place yesterday.
All four were quite eye-catching but there was one that truly caught our attention – the flashy DIOR outfit she used when she accepted the “Video of the Year” award. It included a pink detailed top and a black and white printed bottom that she capped off with an equally flashy pair of multicolored wedges from Giuseppe Zanotti, as well as a large yellow cube hat. The look was quite theatrical but we have to admit, it did have the potential.

What do you think of the outfit?
The combination of pink + black & white print actually looks quite appealing, doesn’t it? In fact, it can actually be a wearable combination sans the hat and those multicolored wedges, wouldn’t you say? We thought it would be nice to steal Katy’s look here with more realistic pieces. Below is an outfit we put together for you.
We started with a black and white printed skirt from Kate Spade and then picked the rest of the items based on the skirt’s style. In the end, we were able to come with something 60s inspired. Have a look and tell us what you think:
