Katy Perry made a stop at Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday to promote the new season of American Idol, which is set to return to the small screen for its 21st season on Sunday, February 19.
Judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie are also back at the judges’ table, along with host Ryan Seacrest. This marks the long-running singing competition’s sixth season with ABC after it ended its 15-season run on Fox from 2002 to 2016.
Known for her quirky, often experimental sense of style, the 38-year-old popstar was pictured arriving at the studio in a disco ball-inspired top with an animal-print skirt suit, both by the upscale streetwear brand The Attico.

Although the eclectic mix of prints and materials may seem odd, it perfectly captured Katy Perry’s kitsch-loving personality.
Katy showcased her midriff and shoulders in the “Helen” dimensional crop top, which hails from the Resort 2023 collection. It’s made from black crepe de chine fabric and embellished with pink and silver sequins, metal chains, and logo metal ends.
Available for $1,890 at Mytheresa, this disco-ready top also has an asymmetric neckline and a long halter wrap strap.

It’s not in Katy Perry’s character to tone down a look, which is why she paired her already flashy top with a bold co-ord set, featuring black-and-white zebra prints.
The footwear designer threw on the “Glen” jacquard blazer ($2,290 at Mytheresa) over her shoulders and teamed the look with its matching “Cloe” jacquard mini skirt ($850 at Mytheresa), which is a wrap skirt with a low-rise asymmetric waist, a thigh-skimming hem, and a daring slit.

Her longtime stylist Tatiana Waterford created the look, which was finished with Paris Texas over-the-knee boots.

These thigh-high boots gave her ensemble some extra edge with their slouchy silhouette, pointed toes, and thin stiletto heels.

Hairstylist Jesus Guerrero pulled Perry’s hair back into a bun with side-swept bangs, allowing her to showcase her $110 Laura Lombardi “Mini Grazia” earrings.
Meanwhile, makeup artist Michael Anthony gave the singer a soft glam makeup look, highlighting her blue eyes with eyeliner and adding a swipe of matte pink lip color.
Taylor Schilling’s look-alike shielded her eyes with Balenciaga “Shield” rectangular sunglasses, which you can get for $295 at Farfetch, on her way inside the Jimmy Kimmel studio.

Katy Perry was joined on the show by Lionel Richie, who also serves as a judge on American Idol.
The 73-year-old singer opted for an all-black look with a leather jacket, a tee, a pair of jeans, and black leather boots.

“We’re in two very different pools,” he explained. “Her pool is not a pool that I necessarily understand, and I think my pool is not a pool that she necessarily understands.”
“Sometimes things are really, really, really, challenging. I won’t lie. We definitely battle with our emotions and creativity, [but] I think we’re both aware of how blessed we are to have uniquely connected in the way that we did at the time that we did, and there’s definitely never a dull moment.”
