Transitioning from a simpleton to royalty takes quite a bit of effort, as we’re sure Kate Middleton knows. Ever since Kate took her role as the Duchess of Cambridge, the once under-the-radar girl has blossomed into a royal.
Naturally, an upgraded societal role means an upgraded wardrobe. Kate must always look proper and stylish, just as she did during a visit to Clärchens Ballhaus, the last original dance hall in Berlin, Germany.

Kate honored the country she was visiting by opting to wear a bird print dress designed by Germany’s own Markus Lupfer.
Kate wore the sleeveless version of the dress, which is also available online in a long-sleeved iteration. We love how the Duchess managed to put a modern spin on the conservative look with a fun metal belt.
The belt wasn’t the only fun quirk Kate added to her outfit, however. The Duchess replaced her usual sensible pumps with a pair of scalloped suede sandals by Prada.

We think Kate’s footwear selection came just in time, too. We were getting a bit tired of her routine Gianvito Rossi and L.K. Bennett pumps.
We really love how Kate managed to look regal and youthful at the same time. If Grace Kelly were still alive, she would be proud.
Kate’s specific sandal color is currently unavailable, but you can purchase these shoes in black suede at Net-A-Porter.
