Kate Mara, the American actress known for her roles in films such as “127 Hours,” “Shooter,” and “Iron Man 2,” as well as her appearances on television shows like “American Horror Story” and “House of Cards,” stands at a height of 5 feet 2 inches, which is approximately 157.5 centimeters. She wears a shoe size 7 (US).

Her sister, Rooney Mara, stands slightly taller at 5 feet 3 inches (160 cm). The one-inch difference (approximately 2.5 cm) sets Rooney just slightly above Kate’s stature.

In response to a mention of her height as 5 feet 3 inches on Twitter, she humorously acknowledged her true height as 5 feet 2 inches and proudly identified herself as a member of the short club. This places her slightly below the average height for American women, around 5 feet 4 inches (162.6 centimeters).

Kate Mara, frequently featured on Your Next Shoes, often boosts her 5’2″ (157.5 cm) height by wearing high heels from top brands like Bionda Castana, Charlotte Olympia, Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Prada, and Nicholas Kirkwood.

In an interview with Parade, Kate said she wished to remain short because she aspired to be on Broadway. She mentioned that she hasn’t grown taller since and humorously suggested that her passion for Broadway might be responsible for her height of five feet two inches.

I started when I was 9 doing community theater near Bedford, New York, where we lived. I was in the Sound of Music. I did it again years later. And then when I was 14 I was almost in the Broadway musical. My mother says that was really my first heartbreak. It was my dream to be in a Broadway show. And I came very, very close to getting the role of Louisa, the second-oldest girl in the massive von Trapp family. At the end of the day they said the reason they couldn’t hire me was that I was too close in height to the girl playing Liesl, the older sister. From that day on I prayed that I wouldn’t grow. I just wanted to be short so I could be on Broadway. I have actually not grown since. So my mother blames my five-foot-two height on my passion for being on Broadway.

Kate Mara humorously noted that her husband appreciates her height because it makes him appear taller when they are together.

It is good in Hollywood to be relatively short. Because literally every actor is tall compared to you. So there is never the problem of “we need someone who is shorter than him.” Also, my husband is very happy about my height because I make him look very tall.

She is best known for her roles as reporter Zoe Barnes in the Netflix political drama House of Cards, computer analyst Shari Rothenberg in the Fox thriller series 24, and Ben Harmon’s vengeful mistress Hayden McClaine in the FX horror miniseries American Horror Story: Murder House.

Kate Mara is the second of four siblings, with one older brother, Daniel; one younger sister, the actress Patricia “Rooney”; and one younger brother, Conor.

Kate Mara’s Stunning Jason Wu Dress and Brian Atwood T-Strap Sandals at ‘Deadfall’ Premiere

While Rooney Mara is all gothic punk and tough chick in leather (thanks to her stint in Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), her sister, Kate Mara, is quite the opposite—sweet, feminine, and rather intriguing.

In November 2012, Kate was spotted looking stunning in chartreuse and black while attending the premiere of ‘Deadfall’ in New York.

Her outfit, a gorgeous mix of lace and chiffon by Jason Wu, was spot-on, and the accessories she chose were perfect—a clutch by Jason Wu and a pair of sexy T-strap sandals by Brian Atwood that were hard to ignore. Smoky eyes finished the ensemble, and she had never looked better.

What do you think? Quite the beauty, yes? And we love how she picked T-straps over pumps or peep toes. They added more flair and drama.

The shoes are actually yummy up close. They come with detailed heel cups fashioned with cutouts all over. Check them out below:
