Kate Hudson, her husband Matt Bellamy, and sons Ryder and Bingham were all photographed arriving at LAX last week.
Kate must still be keeping her wardrobe from the ’80s because the high-rise, acid-washed jeans she wore looked like they came straight from that decade. And we mean that in a good way — after all, the ’80s are back big, influencing current trends in denim and beyond.
Allowing her jeans to shine, Kate kept the rest of her outfit simple with a white tank top and plain black pumps.

Kate Hudson’s jeans are these “Avalon” high-rise skinny jeans from Big Star:

These jeans may be ’80s-influenced, but the more svelte cut and the bleached-out acid wash make them modern.
DIY Baby Sling: A Touch of Motherly Ingenuity
Correct us if we’re wrong, but we seriously think baby slings originated from scarves or oversized wraps. Indeed, you can now easily buy ready-made baby slings, but we bet back in the day, the mommies improvised by using a large piece of fabric.
There’s no stopping you from doing the same thing if you don’t want to spend on an actual sling. You can create your own using a sizeable stretchy scarf. Scarves are so multi-taskers that you can even use them on your babies. How cool is that?!

Check out Kate Hudson, who keeps her tiny tot close with a cute sling. The movie actress hurried through LAX in a casual and comfortable travel look. She wore a loose grey tank top and skinny denim jeans for a relaxed silhouette.
Her feet were adorned with cozy black fleece boots. Accessories were kept simple yet stylish with a brown fedora hat featuring a gold ribbon fringe, chunky gold and silver bangles, and a small shoulder bag. Despite the rush, Kate managed to look effortlessly chic.

Later the same day, she showed off her gorgeous legs at the Clear History premiere in Hollywood. Tell us the good ol’ scarf didn’t cross your mind when you saw these pictures. Because we bet it did.
Ready-made baby slings like Kate’s are usually reinforced for safety reasons. They also come with adjusters to “fine-tune” the carrier according to your height and the baby’s size.

But here’s a hypothetical question for you — if you were so dang broke that you couldn’t afford a real baby sling (or you don’t have one and you suddenly need it), would you be willing to improvise and come up with a sling using a scarf from your closet? Or how about this question — would you use a baby sling (like Kate Hudson’s pretty striped carrier) as a neck warmer or fashion accessory?
