The 80th Venice Film Festival red carpet has been particularly quiet this year due to the ongoing strikes by the Screen Actors Guild Federation and the Writers Guild of America.
While many Hollywood A-list stars skipped the annual week-long event in solidarity, those present dialed up the glamour, serving us colors and sheer looks.
For instance, Kate Beckinsale, no stranger to risqué red carpet outfits, delivered yet another breathtaking appearance while attending the 2023 amfAR gala.

Proving age is just a number, the 50-year-old English actress left very little to the imagination in a glitzy see-through black and gold gown by Beirut-based Lebanese haute couture fashion designer Georges Chakra.
She showed off plenty of skin in the sheer cape-like ensemble that flowed into a dramatic floor-sweeping train.
The exquisite creation featured a high neck embellished with gold sequins, a daring thigh-high slit, and ornate tinsel-like metallic gold trims along the sleeves and zig-zag hem.

To help cover her modesty, the Pearl Harbor actress draped the sheer black mesh number over a figure-flattering bodysuit decked out in glittering gold sequins for added glitz. It also had a large keyhole cutout, showcasing the Underworld star’s ample cleavage.
The stunning piece was from Chakra’s Fall 2024 Couture collection, which, according to the house’s website, “is a testament to the enduring fascination with gold, offering a conceptual exploration of the human form.”
“Chakra utilizes this collection to embark on a journey of self-expression and collective evolution, utilizing gold as a guiding alchemical force to redefine the notions of beauty and power and provoke introspection.”

Len Wiseman’s ex-wife enlisted the help of stylist Gorge Villalpando to create her look for this year’s amfAR gala, to which she was a co-chair.
He added extra layers of sparkles to Kate’s ensemble with the Chopard Haute Joaillerie 18-carat rose gold earrings set with yellow and orange diamonds and the Chopard Temptations ring with 47.81-carat heart-shaped purple tourmaline and 7.16-carat T.W. diamonds set in 18k rose gold.
Making things glamorous, makeup artist Jose Corella gave her a radiant look with feathery eyelashes, bronze smokey eyeshadow, and pink lipstick. Hairstylist Aaron Light styled her brunette hair in a Barbie ponytail with bouncy curled ends.

Opting for maximalism, the Brokedown Palace actress gave herself extra height with towering platform heels by Pleaser USA, “the ultimate go-to name in sexy shoes.”
These $91.95 sandals feature clear toe and buckled ankle straps on a 4-inch gold metallic platform and 8-inch tapered stiletto heel.
