Is there anything Julianne Hough can’t do? The 36-year-old professional dancer, Emmy winner, and actress is expanding her professional horizons by adding author to her extensive resume, having published her debut novel, Everything We Never Knew, last week.

In support of her new endeavor, Hough has been making the rounds on the press circuit, serving scene-stealing summertime looks that highlight her flair for fashion and incredible dancer physique.

Julianne Hough in The Frankie Shop Sheer Chiffon Shirt and Skirt and Mesh Heels

I am always in awe of how effortlessly glamorous Hough dresses and carries herself. Her recent guest appearance on the Today show demonstrates her knack for consistently commanding attention and standing out in a crowd with grace and flair.

Hough, renowned for her ability to seamlessly combine vibrant hues and textures, opted for a layered ensemble, which included a yellow satin slip dress and a sheer silk-blend chiffon shirt and skirt.

The combination is a classic The Frankie Shop aesthetic. They’re sleek, oversized, and crafted in neutral-colored fabric. Julianne’s $205 “Peri” Pre-Fall 2024 shirt, available at Moda Operandi, skims over the body like a halo. It comes finished with a collar, button front fastening, and long sleeves.

I like how the Dancing with the Stars winner wore it loosely over the matching “Peri” lightweight sheer silk-blend midi skirt, highlighting the label’s signature oversized style. Retailing for $145 at Moda Operandi, it features a back slit for a comfortable stride and a hidden zip closure down the back.

Hough tucked her golden bob behind one ear to display her Bottega Veneta 18k gold-plated “Fin” earrings. This sculptural pair retails for $880 at Net-a-Porter.

Keeping things cohesive, she carried an off-white Khaite “Beatrice” small, knotted leather tote in one hand and her book in the other. While the rest of her features were emphasized with dewy, soft pink makeup, her stunning blue eyes were heightened with mascara.

I agree with Julianne’s decision to add nude-colored shoes to complete her look! They perfectly complemented her outfit, as they’re made of mesh and sleek with pointed toes and 4-inch stiletto heels.

Julianne Hough in Del Core Yellow Co-ords and Bottega Veneta Platform Pumps

Earlier in the day, Hough brought sunshine to the Good Morning America studios, showing up in yet another yellow ensemble.

This time, it’s a co-ord set by Milan-based brand Del Core, which has designed unique outfits for icons and Grammy winners like Beyoncé and Adele. The label is recognized for skillfully fusing nature and fashion, often incorporating botanical themes and natural draping, as seen in Hough’s ensemble.

Her draped satin sleeveless top has a cowl neckline and side ruching. While it seems simple to some, I love the regal touch that the long fabric draped over one side provides. It hangs down to the floor like a side cape!

Hough paired her top with pleated flared pants, adding to the ensemble’s chic look. I especially love how the vivid yellow color pops against her tan skin tone.

She wore the same Bottega Veneta gold-plated Fin earrings and carried the same Khaite bag to the GMA set.

Instead of her mesh pumps, Hough completed her sunshine yellow ensemble with chunky, nude Bottega Veneta Mary Jane pumps, designed by creative director Matthieu Blazy for his debut Fall 2022 collection for the Italian luxury fashion house.

Made from shiny croc-embossed leather, these pumps have an incredibly high profile. They also boast an artful gold-tone buckle, thick platforms with rubber-grip soles, and 6.25-inch curved block heels, boosting Hough’s 5’3” height.

I would wear these pumps! They’re versatile and will definitely make me taller! They are priced at $1,750 at Moda Operandi and available in burgundy and fuchsia.

Julianne Hough in Simkhai Fringe Dress and Schutz Slingback Pumps

Julianne Hough was seen out and about in New York City the day before, looking chic in a classy boho ensemble from Simkhai’s Fall 2023 collection.

Her choice of LBD demonstrates how her signature style complements the timeless yet contemporary silhouettes synonymous with the American contemporary designer.

The “Signa” midi dress, available for $585 at Mytheresa, has a low-cut square neckline with structured bra cups. I love how its form-fitting silhouette hugs Julianne’s toned figure, culminating in a latticework fringe dangling from the knee-length hem.

Keeping things classy, Hough teamed the sleeveless dress with chunky silver earrings and a black bag over her shoulder.

I think Hough’s beauty team did a great job highlighting her features. They gave her a radiant look by tucking her blonde bob behind one ear and applying red lipstick, mascara, and rosy blush for a pop of color.

Rounding out her head-to-toe black ensemble was a pair of Schutz “Boris” slingback pumps. They are made of suede and have flirty cutout sides, pointed toes, and adjustable slingback straps.

These alluring pumps are finished with 3-inch self-covered stiletto heels. What I love most about these pumps is their price tag; they’re only $138 at Nordstrom! They’re timeless and won’t break the bank.

Everything We Never Knew: A Novel Based on Julianne Hough’s 36-year-old Life Experiences

In collaboration with author Ellen Goodlett, the book tells the story of Lexi, a woman who gains psychic abilities that allow her to see people’s memories and feel their emotions to help heal them. However, when one of Lexi’s visions shows her husband in danger, she is forced to face her past—something she has avoided— to save the person she loves most.

Everything We Never Knew, which is four years in the making, is based on Hough’s 36 years of existence.

Speaking to People about how the novel came to be, Hough said she was going through a “huge transformational period” in 2020 and asked herself, “How can I create something that I can pour my experiences into without giving all of my details away, but that we’ll all be able to relate to?”

Then comes Everything We Never Knew, available on Amazon. “What I found, it’s so overused and cliché but it really was an awakening.”

“I was starting to feel things and see things and have these really heightened awareness and sense activated in a way that I was like, ‘Whoa, this feels like magic, and nobody’s going to understand this because this is wild.’”

“I realized I can use the universal themes that everybody experiences: loss, grief, abandonment, betrayal, violation, all these things that we experience as the human collective,” Hough says. “I’ve been very, very intentional the last four years of just being as authentic and real as I can and not worrying about the narrative from the outside in, but from the inside out.”

“It just opened this new curiosity up for me, and it started unraveling all the systems of protection that I had put into place for myself to keep me totally fine.”
