Jessica Chastain may not have had an entry in the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, but she had an even bigger contribution: her own unique voice.
The actress was part of this year’s jury alongside other celebrities such as Will Smith and Fan Binbgbing. While a film allows actors limited expression, a juror’s position basically strips down all walls.

The actress said she longed to see women portrayed in the way she knew them today — ones who are pro-active and don’t just react to the men around them.
Jessica said she watched 20 films in 10 days, and saw only a handful of exceptions.
