You may remember Ben Affleck flying to Europe to visit Jennifer Lopez as she filmed The Mother in Spain. This time, he showed his support as his multi-hyphenate wife premiered her latest movie in Los Angeles.
The stunning couple stole the spotlight once again, just like they did when they stepped out for the premiere of Affleck’s newest film, Air.

After a whirlwind press tour wearing chic and monochromatic looks, it still comes as a surprise that Lopez didn’t go for high-octane glamour like we’re used to seeing from the bona fide superstar. It seems that we’re witnessing a new version of Jennifer Lopez – one that opts for quiet luxury and understated elegance.
For the Los Angeles premiere of The Mother, she wore a custom ivory three-piece ensemble from Brunello Cucinelli. It consisted of a bra top, a floor-length skirt, and a long coat. Each piece glittered with subtle sequin embellishments for that touch of sparkle.

The Hustlers actress added an ivory clutch from Tyler Ellis and shimmering jewelry from Fernando Jorge. A half-up, half-down hairstyle and her signature bronzy glow provided the finishing touches to her look.

Meanwhile, Ben Affleck looked dapper in a black three-piece suit. He wore his crisp white shirt without a tie and rounded out his ensemble with lace-up dress shoes.

According to Netflix, “The Mother stars Lopez as a military-trained sniper who comes out of hiding after more than a decade to protect the daughter she was forced to give up. As the two get to know each other under tense circumstances, the Mother gives 12-year-old Zoe (Lucy Paez) tough love as she imparts life lessons and survival skills.”
Also in attendance at the premiere was Jennifer Lopez’s movie daughter, Lucy Paez, who looked beautiful in a yellow gown by Silvia Tcherassi styled with David Yurman jewelry.

At the premiere, Lopez reflected on motherhood and what it means to be the best mom with The Hollywood Reporter. “This movie, in particular, I love because it really thinks about: What kind of mother are you?”
She continued, “You have to be the best mom you can be with who you are and what you know, and the things that you learned and experienced in your life. And that’s what you kind of pass on to your kids, you protect them and love them, no matter what.”

While reading the script, Lopez’s producing partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas “immediately snatched up the project with the hopes that Lopez would star.” She said that the character was everything that Lopez was – “tough, but inside, soft and fiercely protective.”
“She’s so nice,” Lucy Paez said about her movie mom. “She was super motherly with me on set.”

As for the director of the film, producer Marc Evans credited Niki Caro for its “feminine perspective.”
As Goldsmith-Thomas said, “This is a movie that celebrates motherhood, even a woman who doesn’t know how to be a mother but knows how to protect. It’s a movie that is not ageist or sexist or one color.”
