The moment I saw Jennifer Lopez wearing a blouse, cigarette pants, and ballet flats in Los Angeles over the weekend, I thought, “I think I’ve seen this before.” As it turned out, J.Lo had been spotted wearing a similar ensemble a few months ago when rumors of her and Ben Affleck’s separation began spreading.
J.Lo flaunted her post-divorce glow in an all-black ensemble that mirrored her chic and sophisticated take on street style. She looked unbothered amidst all the accusations that she was meeting younger guys to move on from Affleck and attending and participating in Diddy’s parties while they were dating during the early aughts.

Mastering Preppy-Casual Elegance With Corporate Flair
Although J.Lo’s street style also often includes relatable jeans, maxi dresses, wedge heels, and sneakers, I adore it when she elevates streetwear with simple yet striking high-end designer pieces.
Her most recent look blended casual and corporate essentials and struck me as very demure. She opted for a preppy style, donning a $2,050 lightweight cashmere knit sweater by Dior with a pussybow tied collar and Dior Tribales buttons with CD resin pearls modeled after the iconic House earring.
This Italian-made shirt is partly see-through, revealing a peek of her bra, and features three-quarter sleeves that are gently scrunched below her elbows. It also has an elasticated hem for a flattering fit, but Lopez chose to tuck it into a pair of black cigarette trousers to enhance her hourglass figure.
Lopez wore low-rise cropped trousers, but I would have preferred high-waisted cropped pants to give the appearance of longer legs.

Elevating Monochrome With Luxe Accessories
There’s no better way to add sparkle to an all-black outfit than sparkling jewelry.
J.Lo, named the 2019 CFDA Fashion Icon, accessorized her monochromatic ensemble with a tennis bracelet and a selection of diamond rings—sans her engagement ring, of course.
She protected her eyes behind large, angular black sunglasses while sporting her hair in an untidy bun with fringes framing her gorgeous face.

Her black Chanel Perfect Edge purse, which went well with the ensemble’s motif, contained her daily essentials. It had a front flap with a CC turn-lock closure. The clear top handle with a gold-tone chain inside and the long leather-and-gold crossbody strap make it easy to identify.

Dior Ballet Flats: The Show-Stealing Finishing Touch
Those Dior ballerina flats were the main attraction of the outfit, at least in my opinion.
Embracing ballet core, J.Lo wore the very demure and feminine Dior “D-Joy” ballet flats from the French fashion house’s Summer 2024 collection.
These exquisite, couture-inspired ballet slippers are incredibly dainty in black satin. They have detachable grosgrain straps tied around the ankles and distinctive square toes accented with a bow and a decorative white CD signature resin pearl.
Thanks to its foldable soft heel counter, the shoe may be worn as a ballerina flat or mule for versatility.

In addition to her recent monochromatic look, Jennifer Lopez has embraced ballet flats again in 2023, showing her versatility and elegance. She wore Repetto Cendrillon ballet flats for a pre-Thanksgiving shopping trip, pairing them with a chic Dior belted dress that perfectly blended comfort and style.
