Jennifer Hudson’s name has been officially added to the exclusive EGOT club, a prestigious group of talented people who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and a Tony.
The 40-year-old singer, actress, and producer became the 17th entertainer to reach EGOT status after taking home a Tony Award for co-producing the Broadway musical A Strange Loop, which won Best Musical that evening.

She’s the third Black EGOT winner, alongside Whoopi Goldberg and John Legend, and only the fifth woman to achieve the highly coveted status.
Hudson won her first Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Interactive Media for Baba Yaga last year, two Grammys for Best R&B Album in 2009 and Best Musical Theater Album in 2017, and an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for Dreamgirls in 2006.

Prior to the ceremony, J.Hud posed for photos in a black gown from Pamella Roland’s Spring 2022 collection.
The form-fitting number hugged the singer’s curves in all the right places. It features off-the-shoulder sleeves, a jewel-encrusted bodice, with pearls, beads, and crystals that create a two-tone black-and-white look, and a floor-sweeping draped hem.

Giving emphasis on her gown, the Respect star accessorized with minimalist jewelry, selected by her stylist Jeremy Frierson.
The American Idol performer wore two delicate silver bracelets, a pair of diamond earrings, and a cocktail ring.
She further glammed up by parting her sleek tresses to the side and wearing neutral makeup with winged eyeliner, mascara, pink eyeshadow, and a swipe of brown lip color.
