Jennifer Garner is back on the small screen in the new Apple TV+ thriller The Last Thing He Told Me, based on the novel of the same name by Laura Dave, available on Amazon.
The seven-episode miniseries, created by novelist Laura Dave herself with screenwriter and producer Josh Singer, made its global debut on Apple TV+ on Friday, April 14.
Ahead of the release of the first two episodes, the cast and crew of The Last Thing He Told Me gathered together on Thursday at the Regency Bruin Theatre for the Los Angeles premiere of their new project.

Lead star Jennifer Garner led the style pack in a Gabriela Hearst Spring/Summer 2023 column dress cut from white sportswear wool.
Multiple rectangular gold metal bars add contemporary detail to the otherwise plain midi silhouette, while the fitted bodice and strapless neckline give it a flattering fit.

The dress falls below the calves and right above the ankles, showcasing her gold Giuseppe Zanotti “Intriigo” sandals.
These open, pointed-toe sandals are crafted from gold-tone mirror-effect synthetic fabric and feature a 4-inch covered stiletto heel and a crossed strap on the back with a golden metal buckle.

Besides her golden heels, which added an elegant touch to the ensemble, the Pearl Harbor actress accessorized with long dangling earrings and a couple of diamond rings by Fernando Jorge, selected by stylist Jordan Johnson Chung.
Garner’s glam was created by Chanel makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua, who gave her a fresh look with a bronzed, earth-tone color palette and coral pink lipstick.
Jennifer’s side-swept wet-look hairstyle was made by Adir Abergel, while her nails were painted in the coral shade by Temeka Jackson to match her lipstick.

At one point on the red carpet, Jennifer was seen towering over executive producers Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter.
Neustadter opted to power dress in a plunging black tuxedo with wide-leg trousers, while Reese went for a black Givenchy dress.
Witherspoon’s frock had sheer panels and laser-cut details. It also featured an asymmetrical one-shoulder design and a knee-length hem with a side slit.
She paired the cutout dress with caged cutout pumps, pearl hoop earrings, and a plethora of rings.

Days before the premiere of The Last Thing He Told Me, Jennifer Garner was spotted hitting the promotional trail in a series of glamorous outfits, which were a far cry from her typical everyday looks.
Jennifer Garner in Roland Mouret
The Alias star visited the Ed Sullivan Theater last week for a guest appearance on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where she donned a sparkling Roland Mouret dress.
The midi number glistened with crystal embellishments and finished with a strapless sweetheart neckline and ruched detailing. A maxi version of this dress is available for $1,576 at Mytheresa.

Keeping the look elegant, Jennifer accessorized with minimalist jewelry that included a tiny pair of silver earrings and a few rings.
Her chestnut bob hair was brushed to the side and styled in Old Hollywood waves, and her stunning features were accentuated with glamorous makeup that included lashings of mascara and a swipe of nude pink lipstick.
Jennifer Garner in Chanel
Jennifer Garner was later seen leaving the studio in a different ensemble, swapping her crystal-adorned midi dress for a more formal tweed mini dress from Chanel’s Cruise 2022/2023 collection.
The thigh-skimming number came in a dominant black-and-white hue with multicolored flecks, finished with a white collared V-neckline and matching buttoned cuffs.

Jennifer amped up the retro vibe of the look by pairing her classic tweed dress with black tights and pointy ankle boots with a side zip and a high heel.
Allowing her ensemble to do the talking, the “13 Going on 30” star accessorized with simple jewelry that included a $2,700 orbit split diamond ring by Anita Ko.
Jennifer Garner in Lanvin
Earlier, Jennifer Garner appeared on Today, where she promoted her new Apple TV+ series and shared how she keeps her kids off social media.
She opted for a business-chic look in an $890 white poplin Lanvin shirt featuring pearl button closures and rolled-up sleeves. Her top was tucked into a high-waisted pink pencil skirt, finished with lavender pumps.

Giving the formal look a touch of edge, the Miracles from Heaven star layered two chain necklaces around her neck.
She wore the $10,586 Eéra 18k yellow gold Mega Reine necklace and the $21,291 Eéra 18k yellow and white gold with diamonds necklace in addition to her $798 Grace Lee Demi Demi earrings, $24,950 Melissa Kaye Remi bracelet, and $3,400 Marlo Laz vertical Iris ring.
She wore her bob hair in glamorous waves and completed her beauty look with pink eyeshadow, blush, and matching lipstick.
Jennifer Garner in Valentino
Garner later traded in her office outfit for a monochromatic brown Valentino ensemble that gave off major vintage vibes.
Her outfit featured a $2,600 silk cashmere long-sleeved sweater and a Spring 2023 Techno Duchesse flared maxi skirt ($4,500 at Saks Fifth Avenue), styled with a buckled belt to emphasize her waist.

Completing the retro-esque look was a pair of Saint Laurent “Silvana” pumps in deep Bordeaux, brown patent leather. They have square toes adorned with metal chain link detailing and are finished with 4-inch thick heels.

When it came to her beauty look, Garner parted her wavy bob to one side and wore complementary makeup with pink lipstick and mascara.
She then gave her neutral ensemble a pop of color by accessorizing with $12,000 Marlo Laz Starburst earrings in 14k yellow gold with blue sapphire and a $3,400 Marlo Laz Vertical Iris ring in 14k yellow gold with Brazilian jade, blue tourmaline, and white diamonds.

On Keeping Her Kids Away from Social Media
Jennifer Garner, who shares daughters Violet, 17, and Seraphina, 13, and son Samuel, 11, with her ex-husband Ben Affleck, has always been private about her children. She has kept her kids out of the public eye and has banned them from using social media.
Speaking on how she manages to keep them off social media, Garner told Today’s Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, “I just said to my kids, ‘Show me the articles that prove that social media is good for teenagers, and then we’ll have the conversation.’”
“Find scientific evidence that matches what I have that says that it’s not good for teenagers, then we’ll chat,” she added.

She said her eldest, Violet, “is grateful” of her policy, but admitted that “it’s a long haul. I have a couple more to go, so just knock on wood. We’ll see if I really hang in there.”
What Is The Last Thing He Told Me Miniseries About?
The Last Thing He Told Me follows Hannah Michaels (Jennifer Garner) as she forms an unexpected relationship with her disgruntled stepdaughter Bailey (Angourie Rice) while unraveling the mystery behind her husband’s (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) sudden disappearance.
“The show is really a love story between two women: A girl who does not know how to have a mother and a woman who does not know how to be a mother,” Jennifer Garner told Entertainment Weekly.
“And they start out in an adversarial role with each other, and their lives are completely blown up in such a way the stakes could not be more high, that they have to start working together as a team, whether they like it or not.”
The mom-of-three added that the storyline “feels very much relatable to anyone with teenagers.”

The Last Thing He Told Me is produced by Reese Witherspoon’s media company Hello Sunshine for Apple. The pilot episode was directed by Olivia Newman, while the series’ all-female director lineup includes Deniz Gamze Ergüven, Daisy Von Scherler Mayer, and Lila Neugebauer.

Jennifer Garner, a fan of the No. 1 New York Times best-selling novel, jumped at the opportunity when it suddenly became available.
“I went for it. And I stayed up all night writing letters, like all night, like saw the sunrise, just writing and rewriting letters and sending these letters out. And then the next night, I did it again,” she told EW.
