Wednesday’s breakout star Jenna Ortega had the best reaction to her minor wardrobe malfunction at the world premiere of her latest slasher movie, Scream VI, theatrically released on Friday, March 10.
The 20-year-old actress slayed the AMC Lincoln Square Theater red carpet in a black-and-white hybrid tuxedo dress created by Olivier Rousteing, Balmain’s Creative Director, for Jean Paul Gaultier’s Fall 2022 Haute Couture collection.

The sleek, contemporary, deconstructed number featured a shoulder-baring black blazer with wide, structured silk lapels that were left open and layered over a white strapless dress.
The shirt-style base was partially unbuttoned, showing Ortega’s cleavage, creating a deep plunging neckline held together by a sheer nude panel.
While Jenna looked amazing on the red carpet, eagle-eyed fans pointed out the smudged blue stain on her white dress.

Apparently, the actress approached her fans upon arrival to sign autographs. A fan’s Sharpie accidentally made contact with her dress and left a noticeable mark on the bright white fabric.
Not letting a minor wardrobe malfunction ruin her moment, Jenna continued to pose for the cameras while looking unbothered.

Jenna later took to Instagram to share a few snaps from the event, including photos with her castmates.
She captioned the post, “SCREAM VI premiere,” and added the hashtags #sharpiestainwhogivesashit and #imsorryolivier in response to the noticeable stain on her Olivier Rousteing-designed dress.
Stylist Enrique Melendez selected Jenna’s accessories, which included a $10,500 bean design wire necklace in platinum with pavé diamonds and a $1,250 cabochon ring, both from the Tiffany & Co. x Elsa Peretti collection.

Boosting her 5’1” height by several inches, Jenna teetered on a pair of Jimmy Choo “Max” platform sandals.
They have 6-inch heels, 1.6-inch platforms, open toes, and buckled ankle straps. You can find them in several colors at Mytheresa.

Ortega’s signature monochromatic look was given an alluring finish with a pop of bold red lip color and matching blush and eyeshadow created by Melanie Inglessis.
Hairstylist David Stanwell then curled Jenna’s shoulder-length tresses to frame her face.

While on the red carpet, Jenna was pictured posing alongside her co-stars Jasmin Savoy Brown and lead star Melissa Barrera, who play Mindy Meeks-Martin and Sam Carpenter, respectively.
Melissa Barrera and Jasmin Savoy Brown stand at the same height of 5ft 7 (170.2 cm), while Jenna Ortega measures significantly shorter at just 4ft 11 ½ (151.1 cm).
Melissa took the racy route in a black cady cutout gown from Zuhair Murad’s Pre-Fall 2023 collection. With dark eyeshadow, eyeliner, and a dark berry lip color, Melissa maintained the gothic aesthetic of her look.

Meanwhile, Jasmin flaunted her svelte frame in a slinky Givenchy Fall/Winter 2023 pale blue satin gown with a built-in dotted bra and a thigh-high slit. It also had an open-back design that showcased her red underwear.
She carried a red purse, slipped her feet into open-toe red heels, and wore bold red lipstick to complement the look.

How Wednesday Changed Jenna Ortega’s Style
Recently, Jenna Ortega opened up about how her breakout role in Netflix’s Wednesday has altered her personal sense of style.
“I do think that Wednesday changed my taste a lot. I have a hard time getting her off of me, at least clothing-wise,” she told InStyle.
“It’s also something that I’ve always wanted to do. I just never felt like I could. I feel like there were always a lot of voices and opinions that I used to place too much value in.”

Ortega’s recent red-carpet outfits, such as her Versace black gown for the SAG Awards, her gothic Versace bridal gown for Wednesday premiere, and her Saint Laurent look during Paris Fashion Week, all strongly evoke Wednesday Addams.
