Jenna Ortega is the It Girl of the moment, and she just made her award season debut at the 80th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday.
Prior to the ceremony, Ortega spoke with ET’s Nischelle Turner on the red carpet about how the success of her Netflix series Wednesday has made her a breakout star.
With Turner describing her as a “phenomenon,” Jenna responded: “I’m not calling myself that, but I definitely feel like there’s been a shift in my life, and I feel like it’s definitely a new time in my life. So it’s been a bit of an adjustment.”

She also mentioned having regrets over Wednesday’s iconic dance routine to The Cramps’ 1981 song, Goo Goo Muck.
“Even that I still can’t believe because even that was – some of the moves I had planned, some of it was improv. That was one of the scenes I stay awake thinking about because I thought there was so much that I could have done and should have done. So the fact that anyone is showing appreciation and try it themselves, it’s not fathomable to me.”
Stepping Away from Wednesday Addams’ Gothcore Aesthetic
Throughout the Wednesday promo tour, Jenna Ortega has been emulating her on-screen character’s penchant for all things dark and gothic. But on Tuesday’s Golden Globes ceremony, the 20-year-old actress decided to take a step back from her gothcore fashion.
Ortega, who presented the awards for Best Original Score (Justin Hurwitz – Babylon) and Best Original Song (Naatu Naatu – RRR), instead opted for an ethereal tan-colored Gucci gown with elegant draping and feminine pleats all over.
Hailing from the Spring 2023 collection, the sheer nude number also featured modest dramatic sleeves and a floor-sweeping long train but left her cleavage and abs on display with its plunging v-neckline and midriff cutouts.

With the help of stylist Enrique Melendez, The Fallout actress gave off Grecian goddess vibes with jewelry by Tiffany & Co.
She layered three necklaces around her neck, including the Tiffany & Co. Schlumberger necklace, the T1 necklace, and the $6,000 Elsa Peretti Snake necklace.
She also wore the $62,000 Cluster Tennis bracelet in platinum with diamonds, as well as a selection of gold and platinum diamond rings, including a $7,000 Rope Three-row X ring, a Schlumberger Lynn ring, an $11,800 Sixteen Stone ring and a $5,800 Rope Two-Row ring.
To create a cohesive look, Jenna boosted her 5’1” height with Jimmy Choo’s “Max” platform sandals in metallic silver.

When it came to her glam, makeup artist Vincent Oquendo revealed recreating Italian actress Sophia Loren’s look. He applied white eyeliner along Jenna’s bottom lash line, white eyeshadow on top of her winged eyeliner, fake lashes, bronze cheeks, and nude lip color.
Ditching Wednesday’s signature pigtail braids, Jenna sported a light brown wolf cut hairstyle with flared ends, care of hairstylist David Stanwell.
Her swirled beige and white nails by Thuy Nguyen rounded out her Hollywood glam look.

Celebrating Latinx Artists
Not only did Ortega make her Golden Globes red carpet debut, but she also received her first-ever Golden Globe nomination.
The Wednesday star was up against Selena Gomez (Only Murders in the Building), Kaley Cuoco (The Flight Attendant), Jean Smart (Hacks), and Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary) for the Best Female Performance in a Television Series.

In an interview with E! News’ Loni Love on the red carpet, Jenna was amazed by the many Latinx artists nominated at the Golden Globes, even referring to her nomination as “incredible.”
“It’s incredible, especially because I’ve been doing this for a decade now. I feel like I’ve watched Hollywood gradually open up its doors and see more Latinos and Latinas in leading roles. Ana de Armas, Anya Taylor-Joy and Selena, also. I feel very fulfilled.”
