Jenna Dewan proudly displayed her growing baby bump on Tuesday at the 2024 Fashion Trust US Awards in a gothic cutout black dress by Cult Gaia.
I’m sure you’ve been following the trends, and you’ve probably noticed the evolution of the maternity fashion scene over the years.
The days when women would often wear baggy, comfortable maternity dresses to cover up their baby bumps are long gone. Thanks to Rihanna, who revolutionized maternity dressing during her first pregnancy in 2022, celebrities are now embracing the trend of exposing their burgeoning baby belly by donning crop tops and cutaway dresses.
Dewan is the latest celebrity mom to follow Rihanna’s lead in maternity style, and I must say, she’s slaying it.

The 43-year-old actress of mixed ethnicity couldn’t be missed in a feathered black gown from Cult Gaia, a Los Angeles-based fashion brand known for its slinky silhouettes and artful, maximalist aesthetic—as seen in Dewan’s outfit choice.
Cut from slinky satin, the dress beautifully hugs every inch of Dewan’s pregnancy curves. It features a bra-style bodice held in place by an adjustable elastic band with a hook-and-eye clasp at the back. In addition, it has a sexy exposed back framed by delicate spaghetti straps.
The side cutouts and the plunging V-neckline are too much for my taste, but I admire how great it looks on Jenna. It transitions gracefully into a floor-sweeping skirt trimmed with ostrich feathers cascading from the thighs to the hem. It’s quite a daring choice for an expectant mom, I have to say, but I love how confident she’s pulling it off.
Are you daring enough to wear Dewan’s dress? Pregnant or not, Farfetch has it on sale for $1,384 (from $3,415).

At first glance, I thought Dewan was dressed in a long-sleeved feathered gown with a turtleneck. But all she did was toss on the $1,298 statement-making “Audrey” feather jacket that blended seamlessly with her gown.
Real ostrich feathers give the ensemble a dramatic flair, while ribbon ties around the neck provide an air of classic elegance. Although it would be interesting to see the dress’ entire design, I think the shrug was a suitable addition for some modesty.
Giving the gothic-chic look a dash of glitz, the Step Up star accessorized with jewelry from Cicada and Suzanne Kalan. She wore statement-making diamond drop leaf earrings and adorned her black-manicured hands with a few diamond rings.
Jenna debuted a shorter bob hairstyle, which Ricky Mota fashioned in curls with a deep side part. Tonya Brewer, meanwhile, enhanced the look’s goth-glam theme by applying heavy smokey eyeshadow, winged eyeliner, and under-eye liner.

Jenna was accompanied on the red carpet by her Tony Award-winning fiancé Steve Kazee, who was dressed in a large, dark brown suit. He left his jacket open, revealing his white tank top tucked into a pair of wide-leg pants. A pair of shiny black oxford shoes completed the look.
Jenna is expecting her second child with Kazee. The two welcomed their first child in 2020, and Jenna also has a daughter, born in 2013, from her previous marriage to ex-husband Channing Tatum.
