From PVC to Crystals: The Most Iconic Shoes at the 2025 Fashion Trust U.S. Awards

The Fashion Trust U.S. Awards 2025 was a glamorous affair, attracting the who’s who of the fashion and Hollywood scenes. The event, which honored up-and-coming designers and fashion veterans, was a testament to the importance of nurturing talent in the industry and the power of creative expression.

The Fashion Trust U.S. board members selected the award finalists with this year’s presenting sponsor, Google Shopping. A panel of esteemed judges, including ambassadors, founding patrons, and advisory board members, then decided on the winners.

This year’s honorees included Rachel Scott of Diotima for Ready-to-Wear, Dani Griffiths for Accessories, Rebeca Zeijdel-Pax of Beck for Jewelry, Nana Kwame Adusei of the Kwame Adusei brand for Sustainability, and Patrick Taylor, who took home the Graduate Award.

When it came to the red carpet, our favorite A-list stars certainly didn’t hold back as they showed up wearing their finest outfits. But it was their footwear choices that stood out to us. Let’s appreciate their chic feet and see who rocked the best shoes of the evening.

I love the contrast between the transparent PVC toe strap, metallic silver leather slingback strap, and flared heel. However, the graduated crystals around the front soles and heels make these shoes unique. I like how they add a touch of refinement to the sandals’ minimalist silhouette.

Priced at $1,195, these shoes are a worthy investment for any fashionista who wants to add a versatile and elegant touch to their ensemble.

Thanks to the versatile blend of silver leather and PVC, Gabrielle Union’s choice to style the sandals with an intricately beaded white gown felt like a match made in fashion heaven.

The gorgeous dress from Celia Kritharioti’s Spring 2025 Couture collection is elaborately adorned with beads, sequins, crystals, and crystal strands draped all over.

While the design is complex and quite chaotic, the silhouette is straightforward yet striking. It’s made of sheer mesh fabric, gracefully molding to Union’s hourglass figure. It has a flattering halter neck that highlights her shoulders, a navel-deep plunging neckline, and a high leg slit in the middle, adding a daring edge to her appearance.

Union’s decision to keep the rest of her look simple struck me as clever. Her diamond stud earrings stole the show as she wore her hair up in a low bun, while a few rings added a subtle glitter without overwhelming the ensemble. While I find the dress unflattering, there’s no denying that she looks radiant in the yellow-tan number, giving her an otherworldly glow. The ruffled trims and asymmetrical cut-away hem provide a feminine touch, while the one-shoulder ruched bodice lends a bold charm.

Cara Delevingne did not disappoint as she made a rare red-carpet appearance at the Fashion Trust U.S. Awards 2025. She walked the red carpet wearing the $468 Cult Gaia “Cici” pumps, perfectly capturing the LA-based label’s maximalist aesthetic and unique artistry.

These black mesh pumps with sheep leather trims have several notable qualities. One of the highlights is the breathability provided by the mesh fabric, which also contributes to their unique design. The nylon ribbons adorning the open toes and slingback are the real stars of the show. They lend a whimsical yet feminine touch to the design.

I like how Delevingne went for dark glamour, pairing her mesh pumps with a strapless black sheath dress that highlighted her slim frame and height.

The dress, also by Cult Gaia, is covered in feathers and glittering beads, giving the somber look some sparkle. Its mesh skirt offers a subtle yet flirtatious peek at her legs, adding to the outfit’s attractiveness.

Gaia Repossi is an innovator in jewelry and a style icon in her own right. At the Fashion Trust U.S. Awards 2025, she chose a lavender taffeta ensemble by Maison Alaia, designed by creative director Pieter Mulier.

Though not everyone can pull it off, I admire and appreciate Gaia’s decision to pair her pink sandals with a striking lavender outfit, which makes for a stunning contrast. Although the taffeta fabric is prone to wrinkles, it gives the outfit texture and dimension, making it visually appealing.

Gaia showcased her flat abs in a loose-fitting cropped top with wide sleeves scrunched to her elbows. She paired the daring top with matching pants featuring an elasticated waist, hems, and thighs, creating a balloon effect that added a touch of playfulness to the look.

While her outfit might not be to everyone’s taste, the impact and style she brought to the red carpet are hard to deny.

Of course, her look won’t be complete without accessories from her label. She ditched the earrings and necklace in favor of a pearl variation ring and a black titanium cross bracelet.

5. Kerry Washington Glimmers in Head-to-Toe Gold with Jimmy Choo Heels and Fringe Burberry Dress

Kerry Washington illuminated the red carpet at this year’s Fashion Trust U.S. Awards in a head-to-toe metallic gold look. Her footwear choice, a pair of gold Jimmy Choos, elevated her ensemble to the next level.

These pumps are a classic, with a sharp pointed-toe design, low vamps, and tall stiletto heels. But the reflective mirror-effect leather material adds extra glamour, allowing Kerry to glimmer under the lights.

The dress’s retro appeal is undeniable. It perfectly captures the essence of the roaring ’20s. Its fringe design is reminiscent of the flapper style, an iconic fashion trend of the Golden Age.

Adorned with gold sequins, the dress features strips of yellow fabric cascading down her body like a flurry of shimmering confetti, adding a touch of opulence while creating a sense of movement to Kerry’s appearance.

The halter neck, which creates an open back and a seductive deep plunging neckline, beautifully accentuates Washington’s curves and gives her look a provocative touch. I have reservations about the dress, but Kerry looks stunning, confident, and elegant.

The glimmer didn’t stop at her dress and shoes as Kerry accessorized further with an 18k yellow gold chain-link bracelet adorned with 30 baguette diamonds and 1051 round-cut diamonds from Messika’s Midnight Sun High Jewelry collection.

She also wore its matching diamond hoop earrings, which were perfectly highlighted as she pulled her voluminous tight curls back into a low ponytail.

6. Becky G Serves Grecian Goddess Vibes in Gold Cult Gaia Heels and a Bold Black Cutout Dress

Becky G embodied the essence of a Grecian goddess in a black-and-gold ensemble. Her choice of sandals, the Cult Gaia “Aydi” slingback sandals in metallic gold leather, further highlighted the outfit’s otherworldly vibe.

The sandals are quite a statement, crafted with a thin strap across the toes and at the side extending towards the heel and back of the foot, creating a secure and fashionable slingback strap. Tonal buckles adorn these straps, transforming the shoes from simple to eye-catching.

With 4.3-inch stiletto heels, the sandals added height and elegance to her overall look.

The dress stands out with its daring asymmetric design and opulent touches. The V-shaped cutout from the abdomen to the back highlights Becky’s body and adds a hint of sensual allure, while the one-shoulder neckline is adorned with a hammered gold buckle for a touch of Grecian opulence.

I love how the skirt mirrors the bodice’s design. It features a buckle on the left hip to emphasize the diagonal waist before gracefully falling to the floor.

While I prefer to have her hair down to fully embrace the Grecian goddess aesthetic, Becky strategically chose an updo, allowing her earrings to take center stage. Her golden sun-themed earrings complemented the Grecian theme of her dress and added radiance to the ensemble.

7. Jaime King Stuns in Blue Lace-Up Schutz Sandals and a Sunshine-Yellow Organza Dress

Jaime King commanded attention at the event with her striking blue shoes and yellow dress. The bold combination beautifully complemented each other and created a vibrant, summery vibe.

Looking confident, Jaime strutted her stuff on the red carpet in the Schutz “Erlene” sandals crafted from blue suede. The color alone is a statement, and the suede material adds a touch of luxury and elegance to the overall design.

These sandals are striking, thanks to the lace-up ties, which not only provide support and comfort but also an alluring touch. Their peep-toes and tall stiletto heels add flair, letting Jaime display her red-pedicured feet.

Jaime’s dress, selected from the Fall 2022 archives of Hanoi-based Haitian fashion designer Jovana Louis, was made from soft organza with delicate ruffles, creating a beautiful and unique look.

The high neck, keyhole cutout at the chest, long sleeves, and thigh-skimming hem added glamour and sophistication to the ensemble. But despite the dress’s elaborate features, King wore it with ease.

She added a few rings and glittering diamond chandelier earrings to complete the look. Her gorgeous face was emphasized by her hair, which was pulled back in a tidy bun, enhancing the radiance of her red cheeks and lips.

8. Aisha Dee’s Floral Harbison Pumps Add Whimsy to Her Pastel Green Strapless Gown

Aisha Dee’s pumps instantly caught my attention. Crafted from black satin, the classic pointed-toe pump silhouette was elevated by the intriguing white cord arranged into flower petals. This intricate detail added a touch of chic elegance, showcasing the workmanship of Harbison Studio.

The black satin and white cord made for a stunning contrast, and the subtle crystal accents gave the look a touch of sparkle. They were finished with high heels that added to her 5’6” frame, making her look more statuesque and glamorous.

I commend Aisha Dee for putting together a chic springtime ensemble! She flawlessly paired her black floral pumps with a pastel green dress that perfectly complemented her glowing complexion.

The strapless dress featured Harbison Studio’s signature colorful floral accents down the center, creating a visually striking contrast against the soft pastel green background. The combination of colors and designs exuded a sense of freshness, making her look like the embodiment of spring.

Aisha’s minimalist jewelry selection allowed attention to remain focused on the intricacies of her dress. Her natural makeup and tight curls completed her look with an air of effortless glamour.

9. Mandy Moore Goes Sheer in LaPointe Mesh and Roger Vivier Strappy Sandals

Mandy Moore looked effortlessly elegant in her minimalist sandals by Roger Vivier. The “Love Vivier” sandals were simple in design yet exuded refinement and feminine glamour.

They featured delicate asymmetrical slim straps that wrapped the foot and encircled the ankle with buckled ankle straps, creating a sophisticated and elegant look.

The clear PVC straps across the toes were an unexpected detail that added a touch of intrigue and elevated the design. Although Mandy Moore is already 5’10” tall, the 4-inch flared heels further elevated her look, enhancing her already statuesque figure.

While Mandy Moore’s minimalist sandals showcased elegance and sophistication, I couldn’t help but find her overall ensemble a bit tacky.

She wore a two-piece outfit in mesh fabrication from LaPointe’s Resort 2025 collection, consisting of a mesh crop top and a sheer midi skirt generously embellished with crystal and sequin embroidery. The outfit hugged her body like a second skin, leaving little to the imagination (no) thanks to the sheer material showcasing her underwear.

The addition of minimalist accessories, like the $560 Fiametta 3-Prong Martini diamond stud earrings and the Roger Vivier “Viv” Choc Jewel Mini Bag in light pink satin weave ($1,606 at Farfetch), did little to redeem the look.
